  1. yes and it is entirely to do with the 'base' fluid used. Even Advantage has been known to cause dreadful reactions in some dogs due to a change in the base fluid. This is supposed to be a neutral fluid that holds the prevention chemicals but some of them can cause nasty abcess like sores on the neck. My pug had one that ended up the size of my fist and took 9 months to heal and regrow his neck hair. Check with your vet as to which one would be best for your dog.
  2. You really need to find a vet who understands brachy breeds. I had my pug done about 18 months ago. The vet will need to sedate your cav to be able to look at the palate as it can't be seen just by looking into the mouth. If necessary then your cav will need at least a day at tghe vet and possibly overnght depending on hour he responds to the surgery. He will be sore for a few days afterwards and will need soft food until his palate heals. There should be a noticeable improvement in his breathig straight away. Good luck and hope this helps. all up Missys surgery was about 1100.00 all but 100.00 was covered by my insurance.
  3. Dunno about this..................... Think of all those spot-on flea/ tick treatments that are absorbed thru skin e.g. Advantix, Frontline. I bet she smells wonderful. To get your gum out use citrus oil, available from hardware stores or get some lemon essence from the supermarket (same thing) You might need to dab it on the gum a few times but it will get it out eventually. good luck
