Not For Those Who Don't Like Spiders!
Weibritty replied to lappiemum's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Love this shot lappiemum, but a little to close for me............. -
Thanks Grumpette. Well done to everyone in Victoria who braved it and attempted to do obedience and agility in the attrocious conditions we had today. However down at Morwell the weather was kind to us and it only started to rain after the tracking trial had finished.

Yay go Marlo!! I have a soft spot for wei's because I hang out with SparkyTansy and co at shows Huge congrats on your title :D Thanks valleycbr - we are stoked and can't wait to do the urban tracks at night. Your keeping good company with ST and Co.

I don't usually get a chance to brag, so here goes. My Longhair Wei, Marlo, passed her test 3 today and gained her Track & Search Dog Title (TSD).

Options For Leaving For 4 Weeks?
Weibritty replied to Persian Spitz's topic in General Dog Discussion
On my recent OS holiday my 2 Weis went back to their breeder for over 6 weeks and had a marvellous time. I have a great relationship with my breeder and I knew she would look after them 110%, so leaving them for so long eased my mind. They didn't forget me and neither did they pick up any bad habits, well except for rolling in cow poo. My little Brittany went into a boarding kennel owned by someone I know and trust and also coped very well considering she is 13 and a half. So if it was me, first option would be your breeder, then a very good boarding kennel. -

Educating Vets On Vaccine Protocols
Weibritty replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks Stormie. Was an interesting read especially in regards to Wei's and vaccinations and HOD. Something which I am very familiar with. Could you please PM me the name of the specialist who did the talk, if that's OK. -
Posting an old pic, so I hope it fits the challenge. Blue

It does look like outer space doesn't it. I was in the U.S. about 6 weeks ago now. The pic was taken in the Yellowstone National Park, where all the geysers, springs etc. are. Absolutely amazing place and kinda weird with all the smoke and weird space like environment. Here's another pic to show what the landscape was like....

Geriatric Vestibular In 17 Yr Old Maltese X
Weibritty replied to MaxLhasa's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi MaxLhasa My 13 year old Brittany had a severe episode of Geriatric Vestibular Syndrome about 3 months ago now. Same symptoms as your old boy. She was staggering and walking with a very unsteady gait, had fast flickering eyes and slightly glazed over look about her eyes too, vomiting, drooling and also a head tilt. She spent 3 days on an IV drip due to the nausea and couldn't eat food without throwing it back up. Eventually they got her stabilised and once she was eating solid food without throwing up I could bring her home. I was also advised to have a scan done on her if she did not improve within a week, just to rule out any other underlining problems, but so far haven't needed to do it. My girl stumbled around very wobbly-like for about a week and eventually regained most of her balance back, although every now and then her feet seem to go from under her and she has taken a bit of a tumble, but picks herself up without a worry and carries on. Her head tilt has disappeared as well, but my vet said some dogs have the head tilt forever. I also fed her with her food and water bowls elevated to help her out but now she can eat and drink from the floor again. It is very frightening seeing your dog go through this and quite upsetting, but it is not life threatening and most dogs recover very well. Keep your boy quiet and let him rest and I'm sure he'll bounce back just like my girl did. -
