Fingers crossed for your bubs hanging in there a little longer Jerojath!!! I've decided that having 12 must be similar to having two litters at once... It doesn't stop! Not that I'd swap them for the world of course. They're so sweet and smooshable...

She has 10 BB. But we're feeding pups in two groups of six, which are less stressful for her in the box - she fidgets about too much trying to keep track of all 12! Milk has been a little slow but she retained placentas and was really worn out. Had a shot of oxy today and has brightened up a bit. Some sleep is helping her out too! She was so large she didn't get much for the week before the whelping. I'm topping up the small ones with tube feeds, they are very bright at the moment. Fingers crossed they stay that way! Will have to get some fenugreek tomorrow - thanks!

Oh Jetpoint how frustrating!! Maybe she'll just be really casual and start when you least expect it?? Come on girl! Out with them! We want to see!!!

little red man is much brighter tonight after a couple of tube feed top-ups during the day. Sonya's milk is yet to fully come in. So I've got the smallest six in one feeding group and will top them up if needed until it's flowing. The big boys are in charge of keeping up the suckling, they can't knock each other off either as they're all about equal!

TB I'm so sorry.

Our little red boy is my only concern, he's just not feeding quite as strongly as I'd like, gets bumped off the nipple easily. I've just tube fed him to top him up, will see if he picks up. I don't want to try too hard, but don't want him to fade just 'cause he gets pushed aside by big siblings!! I've got two laundry baskets with hot water bottles, six pups in each. They are next to the whelping box. I'll try and get a pic later. If she has some in with her she doesn't try to get the others out. And if they have full bellies and are warm, they sleep so she doesn't get distracted by them calling. They only start to squeak when they're waking and hungry which lets me know so I can do a change-over. It's also good for us as Sonya heats up really easily. Wouldn't be such an issue with a smoothcaoted breed but it means that heating our whelping box is a big no-no, she just can't tolerate it. Even heating the room more than the minimum has an effect on her. So this way I can make sure the pups aren't getting cold.

You should get a video of the belly rippling in the sun!! Fingers crossed for some action soon!!! The head count is interesting!! I'm kicking myself now for not getting id collars from Sway . Here was me counting on 'Zoi normally having individual markings, and not really counting on having quite so many gold & white babies to try and tell apart!!! Lesson learned. Make sure to have id collars no matter what breed you have!!! I'll let you know how the feeding system goes Jetpoint. It seems to be going smoothly so far. And six are much easier for her to cope with in the box at a time than 12! She's trying so hard to not lie on them, I think all 12 squirming around would be too stressful for her.

It's a scary thought isn't it zzz? Our are all strong and feeding well, but two little boys are quite tiny and easily pushed off a nipple by any of their bigger brothers and sisters! So I've split them into two groups of 6. Each group has it's own heated box. I put a group with mum every hour or so. I can also take them all off and have them sleep next to her while her milk recovers a little bteween feeds. Its time consuming but is working for now. Except that I haven't slept yet... No wait! I had an hour this morning... Our girl still has colostrom so I think once her milk really kicks in we should have relative peace with this little system. Now some pics... The whole gang: Mum sleeping between deliveries, with two of the girls: Bubs at the milkbar: And I love this one, Mum meeting her second-born, Adonis:

12 I hope she's done...

Current count 8 - 5 boys, 3 girls. Cream & white, gold & white, and red & white. More to come. Mum & bubs all doing well.

We have number 1. Gold & white male: Waiting waiting...

It's working for me Yarrowfell?
-
After a long retsless night digging up the bedding we're still waiting for it to start... Sigh... :coffee:

zzz top she looks goregous!!! She certainly could have 8 hiding in there. Jerojath I cannot imagine that belly in another two weeks!!! She'll pop!! The vet was feeling Sonya's belly this evening and I said, "well I distinctly told her five, so that's what she's having." I got some big raised eyebrows... So I caved in and said "Well, we were hoping for five and we're preparing for ten." And he said "Yes. I think that would be best..." Temp down this evening - 36.5. Some nesting going on today, and quite uncomfortable again this afternoon.
-
3 weeks?! I don't think I'll cope with another three days. You'll just have to hang about in here and get a fix of photos.
-
Oh Yarrowfell!! Those little legs sticking out!! Another two weeks!! She'll be one relieved mum when they arrive. Ooooh Jetpoint!! We're getting so close! It's an absolutely agonising wait at the moment isn't it???

I know Allerzeit! Who would've thought you could have a Borzoi that curved the wrong way - downwards from chest instead of tucking up!!
-
Congratulations on your litter Tashabailey!! And so sorry for your stillborn girl. So sad and frustrating when you just wish you could breathe life back into them. It sounds like Gabby is doing a lovely job with them. We need photos when you can!! I'm getting so impatient, maybe a puppy fix on photos will help!! We're still waiting. After our long restless night on Sunday night we've had a big shift in position, a very low belly and softened up back and pelvis now - Jersey cow style!! I'm glad she's hanging in there though, yesterday would've been the earliest I wanted her to go, every extra day makes them stronger. We're now at 61 days from ovulation.

Do You Have A List Of What Breeds You Want To Own One Day?
Alyosha replied to Aztec Gold's topic in General Dog Discussion
 Borzoi are easier to live with than human partners!!! Mine are: Azawahk Afghan Hound (would have to be the "just right" one) Chortaj (Hortaya Borzaya) - not in Australia... yet... :D -
I didn't know little pugs could hide away so many babies!!! We had a long, restless and panting night. She was also ravenous and ate everything she could get in. Se then settled after 5am and slept. Has refused breakfast this morning and is lovely, relaxed and happier than she has been for a while. Things must have moved 'cause she managed to sleep like this, which she has been trying and failing to do for the last two weeks: :D
-
I know what you mean about starting to race around!! I'm telling Sonya she really should hang on until Wednesday night at least, as that's when I've arranged to start leave. But looking at her tonight I'm really wondering... Lucky work is very understanding!! So long as I send photos they won't mind me starting leave early!
-
Awww Jetpoint she looks gorgeous!! And still graceful and ladylike too! I think you're right and we're going to have a few 'round here popping a few days early!
-
Amazing pics guys! What a lovely set of tummies we have for July so far! [quote name='Allerzeit' timestamp='1309663218' post='5386109' Hee Hee - I don't think I've ever seen a Borzoi with anything resembling a "tummy" before She looks over it! And yep, she is very over it!! She's due on Saturday but I think will be going mid week sometime. Trouble is, that belly is like a built in heater and she seems to be feeling too warm most of the time. Hard to maintain indoors - even without heating on in here she's panting, it's about 15 degrees...

Rebanne I'm sorry about your little boy.

Who's up for sharing belly pics?? Me first:
