Second a Bernese. My first pic would be a Newfoundland - but you could have some drooling...

This is just gorgeous! This little dog is so engrossed in his game. http://vitaminl.tv/video/411

The only time I have had skin issues was when feeding BH so I would change that.

I would use Septicide. Great stuff - antiseptic cream with added insect repellent. Great for this time of year!

Having known of a very young puppy being pts by a "no kill" organisation for resource guarding I take a dim view of it as a stand alone issue. What is contributing, how old is it, what is it's background etc??
-
Oh puppies are never devils!! Just ask them...
-
Will miss you all this year - at home with gorgeous baby puppies... Eat lots of cherries in my absence!! :D
-
Tell her you are sticking with "Pink" - an attitude name for a feisty little girl... Or something... :D I wanted to wait on naming but having kids around meant they were being named as they arrived!!
-
Oh they're just so sweet! Those little short faces! So different to mine. We have an ageing Goldie, and my mum had one years ago - I have such a huge soft spot for them! Our old girl is "Trina", but mum's old girl was "Bonnie" which I gather is a common goldie name like Bella! She came with it as a giveaway from the Trading Post and we never changed it.

There is a significant wildlife hospital in Brisbane run by RSPCA so even if you're elsewhere in Qld you should be able to get some help by calling RSPCA.

Which comment? There are two very different ones above... ?

Yep. In NSW they are over $150 to register undesexed (it might even be closer to $200?), or $40 if desexed or owned by a registered breeder. For some owners that means a whole lot. And by law they must be registered after 6 months of age.
-
So long as they don't find out what your PIN is...

I can't agree with this. Many dogs that are desexed prior to sexual maturity never commence marking - both dogs and bitches. Desexing needs to be done at the best time for the owner, whilst still considering health implications. I would never recommend late desexing to someone who may have legal troubles because of it (some councils require non breeding dogs to be done after 6 months of age, and dog owning permits can rely on it). Lilewise I would never recommend waiting to someone who had doubts about keeping their dog or bitch separate from other entires with a potential for accidental breeding. Everything can be done in moderation.

Wow sounds like a good decision to go early. Must make a difference to recovery when they're not exhausted beforehand. Sounds like you had good support and vet advice too. You did well to get all your girls! I bred for a girl and only got three out of 12... And so many enquiries seem to be interested in girls too... I suppose it might be easier to choose out of just three!

Fantastic!! Well on the way to becoming blimps like my lot then! Do you know why she ended up with inertia? Did the vet have any thoughts?

One I saw recently was a lovely rustic old wooden ladder - great for rentals as it just leans against the wall and doesn't affixing. Drape the ribbons over the rungs.
-
Oh squeeeee!!! Aren't they gorgeous!!! Mum looks nice and relaxed in her pic. Is she feeding them ok?

Alternative Treatments For Sarcoptic Mange?
Alyosha replied to dogmatic's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have you tried Ivermectin? You could check with a vet as to dose rate etc. -
Media? Accurate? Most media are there to make a profit. They report things that will do exactly that. You ever heard the old adage - "Don't let facts get in teh way of a good story."?
-
People should contest tickets like that.

If the parvo etc tests are negative, perhaps ask the vet about looking for an intussusception. Did they find a cause for your pups' illness?
