Your vet should have shown you how to do this Are you having difficulties with getting the drops in the ear canal itself or with the getting near the sore ear to administer the drops?

Great post Crisovar - the food threads often scare me away It reminds me of the horrified discussions of parents who find out so and so lets their child eat/drink something they dont approve of. It can quickly become emotive. Agree 100%. I do this for my human family, it only makes sense to do it for the fur kid. From my own painful experience I know how food allergies/intollerances can impact on your health so am always reading labels .

Thanks Quoll Love the glass shot :p Did you have a very low wattage bulb to take the look up shot?

I'm so glad that Scout is ok :p I use barf (make my own) for my little guy and give him bones. He has atopy and I have found this to be the best food for him. There is a heap of advise in this forum about barf if you want a headstart on your homework :p Good luck Bec

Nature's Gift is the only one that TD will eat and can tolerate. I've spent a small fortune trying others

This is a cheeky interpretation, but it is an old miners shack: Old and Mineral. It was a hot dry day and the sky really was that colour.

I walk home through the bush - the track takes me straight to the back of our house. After a long day at work this is my first view of "Home"

Wow, there are so many great pics in this thread. Love the compositions and interpretations. Streetscape (outer Lightning Ridge style). Have to confess, I have a weakness for shots with paths that dissapear.

I've been told that the staining is from the dog's saliva?

Hi, sorry for what you and Scout are going through. Its hard when you have to limit your dog's diet. I don't have personal experience with pancreatitis, but my vet's nurse said that any form of pork can cause pancreatitis. If she hadn't mentioned it I wouldln't have had a clue.

Hi, we are currently going through the itcy/scratch thing with our dog and have recently started seeing a specialist. It is awful seeing them so uncomfortable The derm did say that chicken is one of the foods that dogs can be intollerant to. We have switched our dog to turkey necks instead and he does seem to chew himself less. But every dog is different. I have read that when you are feeding your dog on raw foods the amount should be 2% - 3% of their body weight. But this is just a guide. An active dog may need a more than that. There are also some plants around on top of grasses that can cause allergy problems with dogs http://www.dermcare.com.au/pdf/Wandering_Jew.pdf. OH and I had to pull some of them out of our garden and ended up really itchy/scratcy from contact with them ourselves

We switched to this combination after the Sentinal was finished (couple of days ago) and so far no problems have emerged.

I have just heard - it is too sad for words RIP and take care of each other at

Had to share my apple this morning I've only had my guy 6 months and am still learning. From what I've read, when feeding raw it should be 2% to 3% of body weight for an adult dog, with 80% of that being RMBs. But like people, this is usually a guide - an active/working dog may need more. Some may need less.

We tried Advocate as an all in one, once only. Our guy became unwell for a couple of days after we used it. We now use Sentinal and Advantage. But we live in a different area to you and our dog has a flea allergy so we need to prevent fleas, which Sentinal doesn't do. I have read that Frontline has Fipronil in it, which is being reviewed by APVMA because of possible harmful side effects. Oh, and I agree. The Advocate stank

Thanks for the advise Powerlegs, good for both myself and the OP . Don't know where the OP lives, but we're in Brisbane and everyones allergies have been worse during this summer in particular. I was wondering if this could be the chi's problem. We use Aloveen shampoo and conditioner, but it didn't help the foot chewing at all. The aloe sounds like a good idea, will have to give that a go. If its heat related a clip can be a good idea. TD is in what I would call a fairly short coat for summer, shorter than in my avatar pic, and his belly is very short as are his feet (poodle style ). I have been told that dogs can regulate their temp better if their belly is clipped.
