sorry for hijacking the thread, but i have a question in regard to cryptorchidism is it an undecended testicle, or is the dog only born with one testicle .. (aka, no matter how hard you hunt, you'll never find it.) is there 2 seperate conditions which are both lumped under the term cryptorchidism or is there always another one which if hunted for, will be found during surgery?

Sagittarian - thanks, but thanks to the power of Google, i'd already found them. The Kallangur Produce re-opened this week, but i understand its under new management. Old management have moved to Narangba ... so i might drive out there to get it ... -

I can only speak from personal experience, but i find it affordable (i was paying $87 for a 15kg bag) and Meeka was healthy, and shiny and fit. The large puppy i feed has all the extra joint additive things that people seem to think are good Here she is chillin' around the back patio ... no special coat shine product. -

YUP, that's the one Its looking very deserted. the gossip I heard was that it was under new management, and that it folded. I drove past 2 days ago, and it was empty and abandoned looking. I'm going to head over there tomorrow and actually stop in, and see if there's any notices on the windows or anything ... I've only got about a weeks worth of food left, and need to find a new supplier if they're not going to miraculously re-appear with new stock! -
I was buying my Pro Pac from Kallangur produce, but they've gone bust!! does anyone know where i can source my dog's favorite food now ?

 I just hope the puppy owner from the beginning of the post finds a trainer who focuses on positive non-abusive methods, and leaves the check chain behind ... eta :: tollerowned - Snap

Bordacollies4me - they're the best words i've read in this topic so far!! The problem with check/prong/etc collars is that you're forcing the dog to do something, which - when you remove the 'tool' leaves the dog thinking it's now 'free' to do as it pleases. better to ask "WHY is the dog pulling away from me?" or "WHY do I need gimmick training tools to stop my dog from running away?" If you're not getting the result you want from your dog, then ask yourself what YOU are doing wrong, not what is the DOG doing wrong - the dog is only responding to your 'training' ... if the response isn't what you want, then the training is what's at fault, not the dog.
