as long as it doesn't look to serious (ie. Dominance) it should be fine... as they get older they will quit it (or only do it every so often)

Does she have any access to other foods? My uncles Border Colie lives on 7 acerege and was fed fry kibble but was getting extremely overwieght. The vet said to see what the dog was eating throughout the week. My uncle took some days off work to see and the Dog was eating around 4-6 Avocados a day!

Based on what Cal? Your dog might be doing well on high quality kibble but how do you know it wouldn't be doing better on natural food? Dogs haven't evolved in the past fifty years or so since kibble was produced, how do you think they cope with cooked meat + grain? Cooked meat is more difficult to digest for any carnivore (esp dogs and other animals who can't rub two sticks together to make a fire :rolleyes:) and grain is very difficult for them to digest.... how do you propose a dog would gather large amounts of grain for itself in the wild? Exactly! Dogs evolved to eat raw diets... not powdered substances put into a oven and baked... And as far as eukanaba.... if i were feeding my dog kibble it would be a grain free (such as artimes/ eukanaba) or quality grain feed (such as Innova: but wouldn't touch the stuff unless i could be it from somewere else other than hell)... Dogs aren't ment to be eating corn with some traces of meat by product... they're bodies are designed to eat raw meat! Then again i geuss it's what your dog does best on... :rolleyes:

After reading what you guys have had to say and by doing a bit of research I think i'll go with RAW, but i'll pick up some Barf patties to keep as back up in the freezer for emergency days when i dont have time Just a few questions... i've done some research on the forums and found what seem to be some great recipes for the Raw + vegies... just wondering if you guys think that suplements are needed to add to the raw.. (ie. Omeg Blend, Health Booster (multi's) Also my pup is just over 4 months and is 13 kg. How much should i be feeding him daily?? (split up into 2 meals: eg. Raw+vegies for breakkie, chicken frame for dinner. eg. Raw+vegies for both meals) Thanks alot everyone!!! Joshua.

thanks mate... If i were to go with the barf patties are they ok as a complete diet? I used to buy this barf (http://www.caninecountry.com.au/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=7&Itemid=1) from canine country but it says it isn't a complete diet...

Hey guys... Been searching through the forums and decided to make a complete change from dry/raw to completly RAW (with bones). From your experiences how good are the BARF patties? Would it be better for my dog if i were to make it myself (homemade)? I live near Big Dog Pet Foods (http://www.bigdogpetfoods.com/barfpatties.htm) where the BARF patties are made so i would be able to get them fairly cheaply. Would the Barf patties as well as raw bones chicken necks, frames etc. be ok as a complete diet for my dog? Thanks, Joshua

I feed my guy orijen kibble for breakfast and dinner. He gets a little bit of raw at lunch with supplements mixed in and gets a chicken carcuss a few times a week for dinner

that's the best solution imo poor little guy

Hey everyone, My pup Grizzly is 4 months old. I'm used to him scoffing down his food like each mouthful is his last licking the bowl clean. Over the past few days he's just been nibbling at his food eating half as much as usual. I thought this may be related to his teething so I mixed in warm water with his dry food to soften it but he still only ate a little. I gave him some BRAW which he normally absolutley loves and which wouldn't hurt his mouth if he's teething, but again he still only ate a little. He still has the same bubly personallity and is still energetic Sorry if i'm being paranoid but im just a bit worried. I've gathered the phone number of his vet and i'll give them a call just to be sure... Again sorry if i'm being an idiot (ie. worried for nothing) Thanks, Josh Edited: Added info

Hey Guys, My pup Grizzly is 16 weeks... he just had his 3rd vaccination today and i had planned to take him to the dog beach with a couple of his friends... I mentioned this too the vet and he was really adament that i have to wait at least 1 week or up to two? Is this true or is the vet just protecting himself in the chance that maybe something could happen and i could hold him responsible?? Thanks, Josh

Hopefully time fixes it mate... I know my two guys didn't egt along at first but now they are best mates.. (puppy is 16 weeks) They will soon sort eachother out IMO... Good Luck Mate!

Grizzly's poos are fairly inconsistent too.... then again thats probably becuase he's using a mixture of fresh and kibble..
