Mine never liked the feel of the mat (they hate water and need something to be totally dry before they'll even touch it) so I put a towel over it - problem solved.
-
Are you planning on leaving the coat on while you're out? I don't believe that any of them are designed for that and it is not something I'd ever do. Most of the coats are very heavy and if they dried out your dog would be very, very hot. I'd rather by a cool mat then he can decide if he wants to lie on it. If it dries out then there is no drama. I also leave a frozen iceblock (run water over it before you leave it out so their tongue doesn't stick). If he's an only dog then you could also leave a frozen kong.

Is he hot all the time or when exposed to sun? If sun is a problem then I'd get the shiney ones currently advertised on cleanrun.com (free shipping section). I have a range of cool coats but I find that most of them are heavy and don't allow air to circulate.

2 puppies at once - you're "brave"

Which state are you in, because unless you're in the ACT getting a pup from that dog could end up in disaster.

I use covers from Molly Mutt (mollymutt.com) and then fill them with doonas from Big W (at $10 each). They last long and they look good. The Snooza D1000 is also great quality. ETA: A few Australian companies sell the Molly Mutt covers, but you can get them for less direct if you email them. They have great customer service too.

Based on.....? -
DOL adverts are for registered breeders - doesn't mean they're ethical or go any sort of health testing. In some states all it takes to register is to Kay a fee and then breed any two main registered dogs of the same breed together.

When will they realise that by naming her as a rare breed the wring sorts get attracted? Better to say LGD x

The first time I heard it I thought it was a man coming through the dog door, growling at the dogs to get them to keep quiet - and it worked. This was before I even knew that YG had a dog door

Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition

Different dogs need different amounts and some burn more calories than others. I have never fed any commercial food in the quantities written on the pack - they'd be porkers. Given you have a merge breed, I'd just cut back the amount fed as you don't Wang him growing too quickly. -
A question about "he won't start it, but he'll finish it". It is perfectly normal for one dog to give a dog a bit of a telling off "get out of my face/stop jumping on me" growl. For those that say their dog wouldn't start a fight but would finish it, would your dog respond to this gesture as a fight?

If there are things that you want that dont have free shipping at the moment I'd recommend holding off because for the last two years they've had free shipping store wide in December. -
Pedigree amstaffs are okay. Most dogs in rescue don't have pedigree papers.

Sadly there is nothing stopping him going and getting another dog.

There is no temp test in Vic - if your dog fits the checklist, it can be seized and destroyed. The council can refuse to register the dog upon renewal.

Swan security have some cheap cameras. I wouldn't bother with the locks if you've got the only set of keys. Padlock any gates and lock the dog door when you're out and at night. Tell your neighbours what happened so they can keep an eye out. Might sound crazy but leave something easy to steal out so they can grab and leave, rather than stay and search, which increases the chances of hour dogs getting hurt.
-
Can you lock your dog door all? Mine has a plastic insert and I lock it at night
-
Truly scared dogs often shut up. If I'm at home Lucy would y into a rage, but if I'm not at home fergus' dog walker says Lucy hides....
-
Okay, just listened. Change your locks. It sounded like someone broke in and made that sound to scare the dogs quiet. Do you leave keys around? The people who broke into my house took the backdoor keys and tried to come back for the laptop (which was in my bedroom when they first came in, which is where the dogs would have run to so they left it and tried to come back). They didn't get in but came 2 days later. I had left thelaptop in the dining room this time in case they came back - k just wanted them to take it and leave the dogs alone.
-
Do you have a dog door? People came into my house via my small dog door- olive said it was common. ETA: I haven't actually listened to it. I'd assume that what danios said was correct.

Well I might have to go visit the family in Perth then... And go to a dog seminar while I'm there -
Pedigreed amstaffs are allowed in Vic, not pedigreed aren't. Is going to the dog park important to you? All the responsible breeders of those two breeds that I've met have all said they're not suitable for the dog park.
