Arnie is due for his 1st Booster Vaccination. I don't want to vaccinate if I dont have too, if he is still immune. I'm just wondering how many people have done titre testing when the 1st booster was due, do most dogs come back still immune and not needing the booster? Are there dogs that needed to get the booster anyway? Look forward to hearing about your experiences.

Looking forward to it, it should be a fun day! Only a week to go now. Hanging to see the weather forecast. The forecast for Friday at this stage is 31 but possible evening thunderstorms. Cross your fingers everyone for a perfect day.

A guy I work with just got a Sarplaninac. Also called Macedonian Mountain Dog. He wanted one because he is from Macedonia and had one when he was a kid. I have seen video footage and it is stunning, so big and cuddly just like a teddy bear. But I'm told very powerful and very protective/guarding instincts. He knows its going to need alot of training/obedience work. He told me the breeder was trying to get them recognised here.

I really want to come to one of these meets. I'm just worried that my 2 (also have Lola, 5 month old French Bulldog), they do not have the best recall skills. Never really let them off lead because they will not come when called, they will run and run!! Everyones dogs are just beautiful. -

I hope all those people who sent him negative feedback about that episode, have now sent him positive feedback to encourage him to continue with getting this MSG across to the public. -

Its still early days, all puppies cry when they first come home, so don't stress its a normal thing. Most pups will cry when you leave them, cry in their crate, cry for you to pick them up. This might last a week, it could last a few months and as bad as you feel, the best thing I have found is to ignore them!! Search this forum for Crate training tips, there are heaps. I have used it on both my dogs and it really is the best thing I have done for my dogs. Your breeders seems very ignorant to me by telling you this is cruel. There is nothing cruel about it and your dog will end up loving his crate. Obviously your not supposed to leave them in their all day during the day, but for short periods when you can't watch them, or at night to sleep in, the crate is very useful. How is your toilet training going? How old is your puppy? It will be a very tiring few months ahead, and at times you may even think, what have I done?! haaha this is normal for alot of people and once you start to get into a routine, it is so so worth it in the end. Goodluck and give us some photos!

Lola the French Bulldog is now home sweet home with me!! She settled in perfectly, loves playing with Arnie and gee what an appetite on this little piggy! Have not been able to get really great pics as yet, all she wants to do is eat the camera. Hope everyone else is having fun with their new puppy, or for those patiently waiting, its definetly worth the wait!

Ever since Arnie was about 6 months old we noticed he had a particular gait, like he was limping, but we thought it was just the way he walked. Some days it was there, majority of time he walked normal. He has always been the kind of dog that if we went for a long walk, he would sit down when he had enough and I had to carry him home. I thought he was just lazy, now I think it may be part of the bigger picture. Now as a one year old, recently his limp has become worse, after he does a lot of running, he limps badly. Needs to rest for a good day or two before it goes back to normal. I took him to the vet this morning and after feeling him over and watching him walk, he said its the front left leg. First of he said it could be something with his bicep, then he said it could be elbow dysplasia. Or something else thats not as common. He is going in for xrays tomorrow so we can work out what it is for certain. I thought elbow/hip dysplasia were common things in larger breeds. Has anyone had any smaller dogs with these problems? He is probably a kilo and half over weight. He weighs 11.5kgs and his ideal weight would probably be 10/9 kilos as he is a larger sized cavalier. I'm so worried for my baby. Should I get pet insurance now?!!! LOL
