  1. Hi there - I hope there's been some improvement. I've had the same strange happenings before and the little guys do make it hard since they have a very high pain tolerance - from my experience consult a chiropractor. xrays dont show nerves apparently although I forked out the money for that just in case but all was fine. My vet actually suggested I try a chiro and from that I found my pup had pinched a nerve being silly, rough play or it was prob pinched from birth. All fixed easy!
  2. Good luck to all the tough puppies out there, very inspirational. Just thought I'd share an alternate view of therapy - never know it could be worth a try. A friend of mine just took her dog for a "crystal healing" therapy session, not everyone cup of tea but might help some as an additional therapy to the vet treatments/meds. My friends dog started having fits - the therapist (who does chiropractic work and accupuncture etc as well) had her dog lying on the table, put crystals all around and also at different spots on top of her dog then using a pendulum held it over her dogs body. The pendulum swung in circles as the therapist moved it over his body from head to tail and then down the legs. It stopped swinging over her dogs heart and feet - therapist said his heart was going to shut down and stoping over his feet meant he wasnt grounded.....after doing some alternate type things and running the pendulum back over her dogs body it swung in circles all over. Really eye opening and her dog is all the better for it, he was really weak before that and couldnt walk without his front feet curling over. Good luck again, kisses x
  3. Just to add something slightly off the topic but may help someone out there. My rotti after xrays and limping on his front leg was found to have elbow displaysia. I tried cartrophen injections, sashas blend, fish oil tabs, glucosamine tabs, joint guard and techniflex but didnt see an improvement, too little too late. Specialist said he was not an option for elbow fusing or plates and instead put him in metacam, gabapentin/neurontin and tramal. My vet suggested I try accupuncture or alternate therapy for pain relief. I ended up opting for chiropractic work and have learnt that although he has the structural/bone issues, and arthritis, he was limping because his shoulder was "out" and he had a pinched nerve causing him to eventually limp when the pain got too much and xrays dont show nerves apparently. My boy was weaned off his medication about 5 months ago and now is on nothing and has no limp at all but has adjustments when required if he has a "silly" episode and runs around and hurts himself. AMAZING and very happy he'll see his 8th birthday now as he was at the stage that I was taking his food and water bowl to him! They are such pain tolerant creatures, good luck to all those limping now - wise decisions and fast recoveries to you all.

    Howling

Some great suggestions from everyone! If your neighbours can work with you to pinpoint when your boy is howling as you continue to work on different tricks it would make life alot easier for you to try new ideas to target when its happening, not to mention it will build a better rapport with you and your neighbour and when they see how you are really trying to have you all live harmiously they may have a few ideas they can help you with when they are home as well. You might be able to book a dog walker for the time when he is loosing the plot now or you could leave a new toy or treat with the neighbour to give to him. Good luck!
