  1. Lhok is lost in Raiden cuddles!!! I spoke to my breeder this morning...2 and half weeks to gooooooooooo..... which is a few days earlier than I thought. I'm still tempted to drive over, but that's me being silly and impatient. :dancingelephant:
  2. I think we've lost Lhok to the mesmerizing aroma of puppy breath. That stuff will have you in a cloud of Goo Goo unconsciousness for hours. I hope she rouses long enough to snap of some piccies for the rest of us Puppy Desperates. :)
  3. I went into a Vegan Shop just a few weeks ago to pick up some supplement for Dory. I was really surprised at the growing number of commercial vegan pet foods that seemed to be on display. Personally couldn't think of anything worse to feed my pets. There was even a Vegan CAT food!! Whilst Dory loves her raw diet, she'll only eat vegies if there is meat added in. Wonder what the look on her face would be if we served her up some Vegan Dry Food. I really don't get the whole 'feeding pets vegan' thinking. I've known several vegan's that despite loathing the touch of meat will still feed their pets a species appropriate diet.
  4. I'll probably be that bad too with the countdown. I still have three weeks to go.........
  5. What if you have more than three undesexed dogs and don't breed?
  6. If a friends dog was uncomfortable and growly with me. I'd ignore the dog and just socialize with my friend. Unless it was being actively pushy and aggressive, then I'd expect the dog to be turfed outside or put somewhere where I wasn't. If friend didn't do so then I'd not bother visiting again. I had one dog that was friendly with with most and reeeeeally not happy with a handful. 1 person I didn't like anyway and 2 others were a bit weird and sleazy. Her dislike of them was pretty unsettling. And I wasn't convinced she wouldn't bite them. And I don't think she would've just nipped. I kept her on lead, crated or in the backyard. Dory is funny with some, great with others. 'meh' with a few and ridiculously sucky and friendly with a few more. If she can schmooze someone into pats and treats, she's their new best friend. Some of these people were not on my 'like' list. Faithless little bugger she can be.
  7. It's been ages since I've had a puppy (4 weeks to go...and counting till we get our new one). Generally what I've done in the past is suspend life while house training is in progress. I'm a big crate training fan, so that when I'm busy doing stuff like...cooking dinner...I can have a crated puppy still being a part of family life, just not able to quietly nick off to pee where I don't want them to. When dinner is all sorted...out we go...piddle time, then play time with copious amounts of piddle time. I always go out with the puppy. I take a book, I'm not patient and I get bored easily. It also stops me from pestering the puppy or distracting it from the purpose at hand...toilet time. When the jobs done then it's inside for more puppy time or crate time (someone has to do that dratted dishes). When that's all done, it's out for a pee and a play depending on the time. In the mornings I tend to put dogs out giving them a chance to go if they need to. I don't assume they have gone. If I haven't seen it...then it didn't happen. (toilet wise). So if I've booted puppies out for piddles, I won't let them have a run in the house until we have BOTH gone out together and I've witnessed the event. Again...I take amusement with me. When we go out for toilet time, I take the puppy in the general area I want them to go and stand there..waiting. So in winter, it will be a book and an umbrella  . That said, "Princess" Dory refuses to go out when it's raining, we've been known to carry her out (she's FIVE). And while she will wee in the yard, she poops under the veranda...under the washing line...very convenient... .
  8. That can most definitely be arranged :D Yes!!! Dory is very good with puppies. :D Although I think your little 'big' man is going to tower over Dory and Willow (4 weeks and 1 day to go )
  9. Look at that face!!! He looks so soulful. Betcha he gets away with murder with those eyes.
  10. Cassie - Banjo is a little Maltese. Scrumptious. :D I love seeing pure maltese.
  11. Wow...there are some very nice looking puppies in this bunch! And a very large dose of CUTE.
  12. Haven't had a chance to fully catch up on this thread. Congrats (mixed with envy) to those who have their puppies. (I want my puppppeeeeee. ) Now I'm going to look at your pictures and remember....it's only 4 and half weeks to go. :D
  13. This is Dory...except Dory is a little bit pushier. We get lots of head plants into the lap.
  14. Beautiful Cassie...have we a name yet? I'm a sucker for floppy ears. :D ETA: It's nice that he's 25% off too.
  15. Mine's interstate. Definitely have to organise play date. :D Sounds like we will get them about the same time. LOL. I'll be laughing if we bump into each other at the airport. Although I'm toying with the idea of doing a road trip.
  16. Have you tried him on the floor? I've heard ginger can be good for nausea. Is he crated in the car? My other ' I wonder' is if this is now a behavioural issue. Which would require desensitisation. I'd personally not use ACP, I'd just take loads of towels. It leaves them too dopey and the results vary hugely from dog to dog and even from one useage to the next. It's just not predictable or consistent. *touch wood* I've been lucky and haven't had sickie dogs. Piddling pups. But not sick. So someone else might have better ideas.
  17. Well, well, well...congrats Cassie. See ya round the group six ring real soon. I'll just keep praying for rain. :p :lol Will you be showing too?? :) Yep! Won't be our main focus. I'm showing mostly because the breeder asked me too. Probably do quite a bit while she's little. Then work up obedience, with a few shows. See how we're doing. If she's nice enough we'll keep it up. Plus if I have friends at shows, that will help the interest. LOL. When are you getting yours? Mines only 3 weeks old...5 weeks to wait. . It's going so slow.
  18. Awesome Steph! I know the pain of kitty poo crumbs on the rug. Blerk.
  19. Well, well, well...congrats Cassie. See ya round the group six ring real soon. I'll just keep praying for rain. :p :lol
  20. I've had a little bit of experience with Welshies. I found them to be quite active and at times head strong if you didn't have firm but fair handling of them. Very smart. I think if not given a firm hand they can be scrappy buggers. The ones I knew were kennel dogs, fairly sociable, but could be a bit feisty dog to dog or bitch to bitch. Seemed to mix quite well with other breeds, but again...firm hand. I thought them terrific, but a dog that needs someone who is going to spend some time with it and ON it. Real smoochers in their quiet moments.
