  1. Truer words, have not been spoken! I keep thinking with just one dog, I shouldn't need too much...then I think, Oh...hang on...there's Dory too. (No show without Punch, so they say). I haven't even contemplated my logistics yet. Grooming utensils will be easy, not a lot of grooming required. Although, there is that issue with trimming tail and britches. But then I start to think, I don't like that over trimmed look.... Argh!!!!!!!!!!! ETA...Cute babies. :D ATM I'm liking Sumo's more squarish 'boy' head.
  2. I'm beginning to think they enjoy the cheap thrill and notoriety (social media) attention they get from causing people emotional pain and trauma of being stolen from AND losing a much loved companion. Scumbags.
  3. Hard to please when giving out Excellent gradings. He knows what he likes. :) I think he has been very fair on his critiques of the dogs. (Some may disagree. LOL) And has been trying to impress and educate those present on what is good/great and what to watch out for and pointing out why he chose some dogs over others. At Rott Specialties you aren't just placed, you're critiqued and then graded (good, very good or excellent) against the standard. You go for the Excellent grading, placing is cream. :) I hope Willows Dad does well, he's got plenty of competition though!
  4. It goes over three days, Cassie. The Babies were all on Friday, Junior to Veteran Bitches were today and tomorrow is the Junior to Veteran Boys with the Specials. It's a big weekend! Same Judge all weekend, a specialists from Germany. It's been very interesting and he has been pretty tough to please. It has been really good seeing all these dogs. Lots of nice stuff out there. I have a lot of fitness to achieve before I do a speciality show with Willow. Good luck for tomorrow!! What a fantastic start to his show career.
  5. We've spent the last two days at the Rottie National, and Willow is also pooped beyond pooped. She wasn't being shown, we just went along to see her breeders and meet her Dad for the first time. Her Mum placed very well with a great critique (from the little bits I heard), tomorrow her Dad is on. Not sure if we are going to make it.
  6. Yep, I drove over before Easter to meet them, but I've talked to them before over the years. I just got her papers today... So not sure if we'll make the Royal. Here she is pooped out from meeting the family, flirting with some hot Rottie boys and cute-ing it up for the peeples. (that's my daughter btw...who is ok with you seeing her face)
  7. Same. LOL. Although, there aren't too many really pretty collars for large dogs. Oh no? http://karmacollars.com (You enabler, you ) *looking...calculating...gazing at purse...looking at Willow....pondering.......*
  8. Barmera!!! LOL Probably not. I'll be down at SACA. Willow's breeder id over for the Rott show, plus another mate from Vic I haven't seen since last year....and a couple of other people of different breeds too. :D I'm hoping I might get to see Willow's Dad too.
  9. Same. LOL. Although, there aren't too many really pretty collars for large dogs.
  10. Hi Jack, is his kennel near the backdoor? Have you asked the neighbours if he is barking or whining while left alone? I'm a total wuss with my dogs.
  11. Probably just as well. Although if the price is right I might still look at one. Willow has a lot of growing still to do and she does need a new one already.
  12. They have braided collars? Willow needs a new collar...Dory could do with a new collar......................(I love horse shops...but have no horse)....
  13. I've had that twice. :) Willow, no clue. I saw pics, but none jumped out. I merely left it in the laps of the gods and her breeder. The gods and her breeder chose well. I haven't stopped kissing the fur off her, even through the teeth.
  14. Done! My only issue was we have two cats, one fed raw because she will and she loves it. The other one not, because in his mind, "eww, eww, I don't eat raw slimey things". That said, if he DID eat it, he'd have been fed it.
  15. Willow put on 800g from Friday!!! Which is small fry on Sumo. LOL.
  16. I haven't had this problem. Surprisingly, but blessedly. Everyone has asked nicely, including the kids. I don't anticipate too many people will want to pat her when she's older. So far only one person recognised her as being a Rottie. I'm sure that too will change when she's older.
  17. It seems like every time she wakes up from a sleep, she's grown a little more. Cassie, how big is Sumo now?
