Lordee Lord Lord!! Sumo is HUGE! And still very handsome. Willow is a midget, she's only a few hundred grams shy of 12 kg., which would be one of Sumos legs. -
Just after people's experiences in general. But if you have experiences with comparing litter mates fed raw vs commercial that would be awesome. Years ago I raised a raw food puppy he came back with one of the better hip scores in the litter. (2nd to commercially fed sister). I vaguely remember him being less rolypoly than litter mates, more muscular, bit scrawny overall. Grew a lot slower. He did grow to his potential, just didn't get there quite as quickly. And I remember all the razzing I received. It was hard to keep to raw with the pressure and opinions, but we did it. It was a pleasing moment when one of his biggest detractors didn't realize who he was when he had finally reached maturity.

Bored face. Doing boring errands. This is her protest, sneak in the front and pull bored face. Cos boring errands are boring. Beach Baby. :) Such a blast I might leave for work earlier just to start the day with happy, sandy, sea smelling dogs. Cleaning the floors is a bit of a 'beach' tho. -

:D I look forward! Found out today, I'm not too late for Sweepstakes at the Royal! But probably too late for Breed. -

Wow. How tiny is Moses. Willow had her first show training class tonight. She was so good. Her stacking is pretty good, gaiting needs work. For her first time I'd give her an A. But I might be biased. :D -

Love it! Willows thing is TV remotes. Dory is the destructor, but only since Willow. Our bin animal is the littlest of the bunch. Perhaps I should have thought more before dubbing her 'Bungee Bincat Panther Pants'. She also steals the dish cloth, never find it in the same place twice. (She's only 2kg!) -

Willow does "Stand". That's it. I make no apologies. (Although I do feel bad) She's had her final vaccination so I'm all good to start her training in earnest. Gonna start her tracking. -

Toes, here. Her eyes light up like, "OMG!!! You have no shoes or socks. AWESOME." My daughter complains. I'm unsympathetic. Basic really. Put shoes and socks on! Problem solved. ;) -

Steph, I love your pics of Gus. Reminds me of a very, very sweet Flattie we had coming in. She was so stoic and happy. Whippy, Sighthounds are so regal. I'll never forget holding the leash of a very distinguished Afghan for his owner. He was stunning. He gave me a very disdainful up and down, took two steps away as if to disassociate from me. I felt dismissed and not good enough all in one glance. LOL. His owner told me he often made her feel the same. (I still thought he was gorgeous) -

How photogenic is Tango? In in the pics you can tell they are quite different boys. Here's my current favorite if Willow. She'd been playing pretty hard at home and then started falling asleep as soon as she got settled at work. We weighed her again today, 1 kg in 3 days!!! She's now over 10kg. Pretty soon she'll be bigger than her bestie, Dory (14kg) -

You just want to kiss his little toes. :) Willow sleeps no later than 7.30am. And that's a sleep in. It's usually 7am. Haven't been able to get more pics lately. She's either been flat out feral or unconscious. -
Mine come to work most days. It's a tough gig....

It's impossible not to Lhok. Your updates and photos in these puppy threads were enjoyed by all. We all know the joy a new puppy brings to your life. To have that cruelly ripped away so early is just shattering. We are all mourning on your behalf. Please take care of yourself xx My sentiments too. Thanks Cassie for saying it so eloquently. Lhok...Willow sends you waggy butt, puppy kisses to help heal your heart. I've been spending lots of kissing time with her and more time laughing at her naughty antics. (And she is Naughty!) But she's a super model too. Here she is sending you Love. -
Augustines Superboost
Dory the Doted One replied to Rosetta's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I read it as a breakdown of the nutrients in the Superboost product rather than the diet. I thought it would just add some balance to home made to make sure he gets all the proper nutrients. Better to feed balanced than add a powder, really. I think it gives us peace mind, if nothing else. I'm always questioning if I'm giving the right balance, even though I have shiny coats, good teeth, fresh breath (the dogs, not me), nice firm poos. As far as supplements go, I think this one is fairly reasonably priced. But how do you know its the right balance? I don't. I certainly haven't been feeding this supplement in the amounts it recommends. I'm not even sure if what I'm feeding is the right balance. I try to give plenty of variety within the scope of what the dogs are willing to eat. (Dory won't touch offal with a 40ft barge pole, no matter how much you try to hide it). I've read multiple books on raw feeding and all of them give you a different breakdown, most of them recommend this supplement or that supplement. Which annoys me, because I begin to question the credibility of an author that is pushing their supplement, whilst bagging out commercially produced foods that push their product as the best for balance and nutrition. Bit pot calling kettle black. An over riding question I have is...how do we know what nutrients they need in what balance...and how did they work that out? From my observation of Dory's changed appearance, what I'm doing now seems to be better than what I was doing before. (raw vs dry food). Is it the best? I have no idea. -
He's not getting much in the way of walks yet, being a large breed and not yet had his second vacc, but we play a good game of tug and do some quick training! I don't make a big deal of it, I just scoot out the door, more cause I am always running late than any careful planning! Who doesn't!? Lucky they took Jerry Springer off, never know what he might learn! You'll rot their brains! It's the ABC around here...largely because there are no fat blasting, tummy tightening, fabo vacuum cleaner ads to stress them out. And I'm not gonna get started on the insurance ads, they are too young to worry about me popping my clogs and leaving them with no income. I don't want them panicking over the state of the world either, I'll be putting on a Disney movie (not Up! though! ) and that's that. :doh:I didn't think of this. (not being an ABC watcher myself.) I can picture Dory and Willow worrying about Turkey, growing unemployment and Tony Abbot. Haha. This would explain Dory's greying muzzle (nothing to do with Willow at all!), and Willow's burgeoning frown lines (nothing to do with her trying her hardest to be the cutest, most beautifullest puppy at all). Willow was crushed to hear Turkey was not a bird, therefore not a meal. She was a little mixed about unemployment, that would mean more time at home...but who would pay for her toys? And in regards to Abbot....bafflement....

I find that whole website totally confusing. Is the nutritional breakdown for the PRODUCT ie the Supplement. Or the breakdown of the DIET. Perhaps I'm just a Nong (I'm probably a Nong). I have just finished my first container of the Superboost, can't say I've seen any miracle results. I had Dory on raw diet for about a month before using it and Willow has been getting some as well. -
I'm so sorry Lhok.. Deeply sorry. i know how excited you were about having him in your life. I can only imagine the grief you are going through right now.

I'm thinking of nick naming Willow the furminator. She had very nicely stripped out Dory's coat this year. :D Pick ups a breeze, it all comes out in hairy poos. (I've had to 'help' a couple times, tho) -

I'm sorry to hear he's not doing so well Lhok. We just never think that we are the ones who will have these things occur, you see so many people who have happy, trouble free puppys, why do we get hassles when we love an worry about them more than others. Let's hope all is sorted for him really soon. -

Are you taking him on the same walk? Or does he do this no matter where you go? Couple of things I would try...one is the waiting game...and then when he hauls butt give him heaps of praise and reward. The other would be to find something that motivates him (food, squeaky toy, tug toy) and when it looks like he is about to drop his butt...but hasn't dropped his butt yet... I would let him know that you had some pretty cool items on your person that only dogs who keep their tushies moving will get. Something else I would try, is to take him to places that are interesting so he'll want to keep moving if he expects to see it all. I hope some of that made sense. I'm really spoilt, Willow is a dream on the lead. Sometimes she will stop, but that is usually in response to something she hasn't seen before or isn't 100% sure of. When she has it sussed out she gets going again, usually with a little mad dash to the next exciting adventure. (ie. random blowing leaf or stick. )
