  1. HERE are some pics I took of my friends dog....he reminds me of my kelpie when I was a child. She loves him dearly. Just recently she took him to his first flyball outing. He is still a beginner but he is learning fast. He has good focus once he settles! spelling edit
  2. I was trawling the many photo sites and there was a comp called 'seeing it another way". It involved taking pictures of everyday things that looked like something else when examined...eg profile of a face on a rock, flowers that formed the shape of a face, clouds in unusual forms.... JUST another one to consider for next year perhaps.
  3. CONGRATS on the eos comp so far.....how exciting. GLAD to know your camera will be reunited with you, hope it wasnt too expensive.
  4. JUST looked at the harvey norman catalogue (Melbourne) p.28 NIKKOR lens50mm 196.00 the pic is of a 1.4 G Hmmmmmmmm.....Just got mine last week (Online at diff supplier ) Just thought id bless someone with the info should they have to honor it. ON the same page they have an inca at330a tripod would it suit my d90...at 26 dollars I might be tempted....
  5. I have a neighbour who has an aging Akita cross. The dog is about 12 I believe but the owner doesnt believe in vets. As wrong as that it is I have noticed the old dog getting stiff in the legs (when getting up from a sleep for eg) Is there an off the shelf Glucosamine tablet I could offer to buy to make this dog a bit more comfortable? In the past ive clipped its nails for him, helped with a hotspot the dog had- I imagine this dog is a decent weight- my experience is just with the smaller dogs.
  6. NOW>What is they say about big feet, sports cars and lenses???? NAHHHHHHHH I just have lense envy. (AND small lense syndrome)
  7. OUCH I just snorted my coffee- that second photo is hilarious sll we need is a sunset and a headscarf and we have the next karate kid!
  8. FINALLY I managed to purchase my 50mm lens. I think I need to adjust to the aspect and focus development....its quite a bit different from my kit lens. I like its ability to stop motion though....I want to play but I had but 10 minutes today.
  9. I like the idea in the first one, but the crop doesnt work for some reason. I am distracted by the section forward of the eye...it doesnt balance-but i cant explain why. LOOOVE the water droplets. MY daughter just looked over my shoulder at the yellow 'bug' and said whoooooooooa...shes a hard critic...lol...I love that bug shot also

  15. Thanks guys...I keep working on my photography, dogs are just the most versatile subject. I just love all dogs. MY sadness was I didnt get to cuddle a grey or whippet at expo My day would have been complete then.
  16. Spyro run free over the bridge, you were much loved by all who met you. You sound like the gentleman canine....no doubt you will be there to teach Charlie again when his time comes and you are reunited again. A sad sudden loss, so kind of you to give him a tribute.

  18. I have just caught my lil red bandit running out the door with my daughters much loved toy.....i retrieved it only to catch sight of her heading down the yard with my daughters toothbrush. ANNOYING really as she is never that keen on her own toothbrush... DOES your dog seem to target a person in the household to steal from???? WHAT does your dog seek out to add to their own personal treasures. My previous dog used to to get my OH jocks....then bite holes in em. Once a pair survived to the wash....I was confronted one morning to my OH modelling his air conditioned attire.......
