  1. Thanks for the input. Currently shes on glucosamine, wears a polar coat. Sleeps on polar fleece. Dog jammies look better covering. Well worth a try. Great idea Kirslin- she used to like sleeping in an old canvas bag (such a prissy poodle-not!) for the privacy aspect. What are snuggle discs????
  2. I have a golden oldie, each year the winters get that bit harder. How do you keep your oldies extra warm? Ive looked into heat pads etcc...but concerned about electricity & the possibility of my oldie having a night time 'accident' and soiling it.
  3. Condolances to all involved. Just a tragic thing to happen. Molasses is an attractant in snail bait- it can be irresistable. You did all you could, you couldnt forsee such an occurance.
  4. Heartwarming...God bless lil Chi. Jed, Chi might not be perfect but together you are. Get well soon Jed.
  5. Love em. Special mention to Zero's eye-robics, they defy all imagination....Luvs ya Zero.
  6. Too funny....is there a nikon equivelant...betcha it costs more LOL
  7. Was trying to capture bugs n flowers, but Miss Luci decided to check out the flower instead....so I took a shot of her. Then I captured my red 'wild child' Rosie just as I was straightening up.....it typifies her attitude as compared to Luci. Red bull was named after her I think.
  8. Congratulations...now tell me why I would want this lens......I might have to alter my Christmas wish list. I have been saving for a macro......but I can be convinced otherwise LOL Have fun Bellatrix
  9. Ok I have been looking at my settings having just purchased a Spyder3 express calibrator. For a start my brightness was wayyyyyy to high...ok for my gaming teen but a shocker for photos. And my color temp was a bit off also. Maybe thats why I have been getting eye stress from the screen. Anyway I used my lil Spyder and well hopefully all is well now. Still getting used to the softer light on the screen..... Any other input on calibration to share????
  10. I tend to concur....I think some vets offer services that are a little OTT in my opinion. That being said though, in breeds defined suseptible to having a genetic blood clotting abnormality a pre surgery clotting test is important.
  11. Slightly off topic...but is there (or perhaps we should start) a thread on doggy weight watcher. Im all for encouraging good health and owners trying to get their pets down to a healthy weight, people who have succeeded before could post some ideas.
  12. The vet Rosie saw is a chiro/acupunturist. Today they decided to administer valium as well to relax the muscles somewhat. After a day of cage rest with the medicine regime she now resuming a natural gait, though she is very guarded in her turns. Only allowed out to wee & eat really. She is happy crated at the moment. The slight improvement hopefully means I will sleep a bit better tonight. It was hard to do my shift today, all I was thinking about was her. She is normally a zoomies kinda gal, she might have collided with the other dog, I admit I never considered that. Thank you for the responses. Her revisit is Thurs....they will reevaluate her then. Of course they will see her earler if I think somethings amiss. Thankfully she will take all her tablets in cheese. Thank you for the information.
  13. I have had lived at my vets lately. First the old girl (blind) damaged her eye against somethingand had to have surgery. Four weeks later she has been given the all clear. Now my Rosie is unwell. She was walking like a stick insect when I got home, shaking and whimpering. So I took her immediately to the vet. He believes she may have damage along the cervical bones in her neck, she has a limited range in movement and ++ pain response. As it was a weekend, he sent her home on anti inflams and a massive pain killer, pending xrays if not muscular. If it is the joints in the neck affected he told me the healing time may be months. She is such a sorry little thing at the mo. Has anyone had problems like this before that could share? Not knowing what trauma could have caused this upsets me also.
  14. Oh persephone, I feel so much better now ...............NOT! LOL
  15. Sad to hear there was drama in your house Kirslin. I have always had bitches together- up to four, never an issue. Although they were all born into the group. I have found that outside bitches never seem to gel together completely. Rosie and Luci are bad for food agression, even if its a piece of brussell sprout none of them would dare eat. Its easy to let your guard down when they "think' something might be a treasure. Im about to go to the vet with Rosie as she has extreme pain on her shoulder, she walks like a stick insect. I was first alerted to it because Luci started to growl at her as I let them out of their crates- obviously her stiff appearance gave the wrong signals. I hope your lil feisty shelias recover and aremore forgiving this am.
  16. Uplifting news.....one day at a time, candle lit, we are thinking of you Jed.
  17. comforting pics to know that the dogs are being so well cared for. Thank you Steve. How precious is Chi Chi- she is a true survivor. May she bring comfort in her strength to reassure her "mum' when they meet again.
  18. Well done Rspca for keeping it real- you acted quickly and efficiently- and worked well with those involved.
  19. I have a similar situation. BR= Before Rosie. Luci used to enjoy sleep on couch, sleeping on my bed, on my feet. Now we live in the era of WR= with Rosie. Luci now wrestles and plays mouthies on my couch..."cut it out guys im trying to watch this thing on tv". Then on the bed "Cut it out girlies Im trying to sleep". And as for my feet- well my socks have sufferred due to the horseplay around my toes at the computer. Yes life changed when Rosie came along. Makes life interesting.
  20. Tried both Teds and Harvey Norman- didnt send them off to lab as they were for ref only.
