IMO (vet nurse) looking of the wound it is a standard dog bite treatment, as nearly alway damage extends much further than the site of the puncture wounds, in most cases the area shaved here would suffer total hairloss due to the trauma involved. The drains are always placed at the highest point and run below the wound exiting out of the lowest point of the trauma...thus allowing downward drainage of fluid/possible pus causing more damage and possible blood infection. Yes it looks a large area, but the bite wounds though small allow anaerobic bugs to thrive in the surrounding muscle, as they do not require oxygen to thrive...should the wound just close it is a prime condition for nasty abscess/infection to grow. By placing the drain it keeps the wound open-thus anaerobic bugs will not thrive. Once the antibiotics have kicked in the drain is removed some 7 days later and the wound will heal closed. The expense is most certainly higher due to being an emergency centre- Id imagine this repair would be about slightly cheaper at a day vet, but they did what was required for the best of the dog.

Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)

Evening Jed I think its a shame people are moved from hospital before the are comfortable in doing so. That being said there is more staph and nasties creeping in hospitals in higher concentration than in the average home. Im sorry to hear you have been in pain overnight, good to hear you are happy with your nursing care you are recieving out of hospital. I second the comment above on pain management, you have been brave all theough this, dont tolerate any more pain than you need to- you need to rest to heal. -
ML - yep, we only push the editing if it's requested, otherwise our usual response is, "We're photographers, not panel beaters."

A lovely tribute to Meg......heartfelt dedication Jed, a love that knew no boundaries on ways to love you in this life. May her journey over the bridge, knowing how loved she was be a comfort as one day we will all meet again. ♥ -

Its just wonderful to see siblings like that makes you happy to know that all is well with new additions.

She is just beautiful- and a real bundle of energy I bet. Puck seems to have the 'watch out giant whippet coming about' expression in that photo.

This is of great interest.....when purchasing outside your breed often the first question is naturally how much. I have read on DOL breeders who seem to abhor 'price shopping'. Why is price taboo??? Not sure but surely genuine people naturally wish to know price to see if a chosen breed is within their means....I dont think in all cases it necessarily means a 'time waster' or intention to negotiate. In many respects i think it great to understand price- unpapered puppies of undetermined parentage yet a particular breed get such prices in well known pet shop chains.....people need to understand that the 'bargain' puppy is definitely not all that. Bought from a reputable breeder they get more than a receipt and 7 day backup.

Jed it is so good to see you in recovery. I lost a friend who went back into a house fire to rescue her dogs...the dogs made it but unfortunately she subcumbed to her injury following grafts. I cry when I think of her- it was hard to understand at first. She loved her dogs and gave her life for them....I am encouraged by your words knowing she managed to save her beloved pets as her last act of kindness on this earth. She was a wonderful woman ,as you are. I pray your recovery continues smoothly and hope the next video we see is that of the reunion of you and your rescued babes. -
Touching words for a wonderful companion. Im sure you are all the better (the boyz included) for her girlie presence. Amazing how treasures can be found in the most unexpected places....how blessed you both were.

As you were blessed by them, they were double blessed to know you loved them. Too many dogs leave this world without knowing this. We are all crying with you Jed as loss is something we long term owners have often faced for many reasons...the pain is both common and real. Grief is such a personal thing I know but we are all here for you as you share with us.....virtual hugs and best wishes. Thank you for sharing with us the precious photos of Paris. To me she looked wise beyond her years. So special. -
Still trying to learn Lightroom stuff....just having a play. Did this one the other night still a work in progress- not happy with sky- but it is indeed worth learning. It has helped me understand photo facets a lot more. And to appreciate those who are talented in PP edit-forgot attach.

My friend has a very herd motivated kelpie who at the moment does flyball. She has just purchased a kelpie bitch puppy from working lines and would like to either go down the track of agility or herding. Is there a club or group that develops herding????
