  1. I currently have the nikkor 18-55 kit lens 55-200 kit lens 50 1.4 lens I would LOVE to have a macro/portrait lens....but have also been looking at 200mm+ with f2.8 Whilst looking, I have been also checking out some of the latest additions to the Tamron family. Which way to go???? What of these third party lenses? Any input to what would bring me joy in either of these ranges???
  2. I struggled with a rescue who had "issues'...I can certainly sympathise. Despite being trained to novice standard he never grew out of it. two sets of car seatbelts, one car seat. Many doors in the house, plaster.....We had winders on our windows until 'Buster' got to them....window panes chewed.....Finally he taught himself to unwind the windows so all the damage was outside stuff! I told myself that containment was better than the other option. It was getting so bad I would avoid leaving the house for fear of what I might find on my return...put bluntly I had to remember that I was the alpha, he was a dog that in the end it was better for all of us as I was growing resentful toward him out of sheer frustration. It worked for me. I feel your pain- I cried those tears many a time.
  3. L is for Love- Love Echo......how awesome is that cat!

  11. Went to the dandenongs to take birdie pics and play with my 50mm, then basically a play with the camera. Was fun, learnt about all white birds and exposure, the focus points of the 50mm. But in all I just had fun getting out of the house!
  12. I know of these prosthetic testicles too...one practioner in Melb..... it is not an urban myth whippets. As Ive only owned girlies, I think they would be a noticable addition so I havent tried LOL. Seriously though it is sad for the breed when breeders go to such lengths, dishonest and a misrepresentation.
  13. Am I right in saying that dogs cannot see color? It is a belief I was told once and I never checked if it was an old wives tale. Can someone please explain why my Rosie is facinated with hot pink objects...she collects them like a bowerbird collects blue. She always takes anything that color, pencils, clothing, socks (my daughter fav pair).. I purchased a hot pink tennis ball and threw it in the doggie toy box, yes she found it and it is her newest thing to her bower! Anyone else have a dog that collects specific things? I cant explain it.
  14. RIP Snowy...may the stresses and pains you found in this world be gone. Im sure your issues were formed by the environment you had previously endured, issues you could not let go of. Keetamouse, you tried your best.

  16. Common pup enquiry, common misinformed opinion. I hope he takes your advice haylz and learns more about the breed he is interested in first to understand what well bred and healthy means.

  20. I was out taking some pics of birds with the want of freezing their flight...got this one just as the bird was landing, head back, wings out...think he was a little fast coming in and hit the invisible wall!!! He looked so graceful in the shots coming in to land! Funny how one click too many ends up with the subject looking not what you were after! Im sure everyone has such outtakes..this was just one Id thought id share.
  21. Sounds like Diesel did things 'his' way....he obviously found joy in being outside- some dogs are wired like that. You gave many things to Diesel...a home, understanding and the freedom to live life as he wished. He knew he was loved the day you brought him home....and knew this every day after. Yes 8 yrs is young, but fate can be like that sometimes,,,,but how precious was his eight years loved by someione who understood his needs! Run free Diesel-
  22. Try getting a taxi these days with a dog (I have a small one) even if it is in travel crate- some shifts it is just not possible to get a taxi....I was told that "no operators on this shift will carry a dog"...maybe next shift! It took me a while to catch on why...
