  1. I would like to hear some input into tips for dieting dogs. My Rosie is carrying a bit too much and so I have started dieting her. Currently she gets a portion of fresh meat, grain & veges. Sometimes rice, sometimes pasta added in smalll amount. That with extra exercise she is getting results are happening. Tonight while cooking pasta for the family an uncooked shell pasta fell on the floor and she ate it up. In fact anything that hits the floor is eaten up. She gets a roo stix once a week & some food is taken off her meal. She will even fight for a piece of green. Currently she gets a cup & a half of food. Is she just a food addict? Should i weaken and increase her food? is there any non fat foods I could give her so she feels fuller or satisfied?
  2. Ohhhh I luuurve Poodle butts....maybe im a bit biased... ;)
  3. No hijack...I love getting to know more about my subjects. I googled tachinid fly and found some super info here http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_tachinids/index.html I have the green ones everywhere...they are tachinid flys too...whod guess! Very interesting: thanks Kirislin!
  4. What a face there Kirislin ...I like! My victim does definitely look like that guy when you look closer.
  5. I agree with your principle of "just get it done" PC. I guess its application might be good for example sport: car racing and the like. Wondering how effective it might be for say...whippets on the move, like Kirislins whippet day.
  6. Since getting a macro lens I am in awe of the little things that happen day to day in my garden. I rarely use fly spray as any hapless fly often ends up as sport for Miss Rosie, the resident canine fly exterminator. I have several daisy bushes outside my windows...all containing resident flower spiders. These game lil spiders will take flies much bigger than themselves thankfully ensuring I dont have to use fly spray.
  7. During my travels and info research I have come to the common term "trap focus" reading about its application (Nikon) I am keen to try. Id like to understand more...
  8. ...TIll I got bailled up by security" They must have thought you were paparazzi. Great photos..no.5 seems to have trouble keeping his body on the ground (lol)
  9. She ticks both of these boxes! Awesome pics TN... Love the "He did what???" face Classic!
  10. (A bit soft) Luci sitting at her usual possie at the foot of the chair at the computer...

  12. I am doing a photo challenge...we have a choice of waterscape or landscape...I have a good pic of scenery taken with a bank of a still lake showing in the foreground. So what do I call it? Is it decided on % of a photos subject???
  13. Thank you 4Kelpies. I will follow it up...I was just wondering if I was a contributing factor to this as well.

  15. Yesterday was quite hot so I flaked it with my 2 dogs in front of a fan, on my bed. Unbeknown to me ( I was asleep), "Rosie" started gagging...my 12 yr old (who regularly handles both dogs) rushed in to grab her off the bed to put her outside... "Luci" woke and rushed my daughter, placing a nasty nip on her thigh. I was upset as Luci is not aggressive, in fact she is usually overly licky & affectionate. Is it a case of just "Luci getting a fright?" Is there an unwritten rule we have broken?? Luci adopted a submissive pose (on back) immediately after and proceeded to try to lick my daughters feet profusely. I have never had a dog do this in my many years of having a dog....Yes Luci is trained (novice std) and I have ensured she allows us to remove bones & toys from her without complaint. She is very accustomed to feet/mouth/ ear handling. Input please.
  16. The turn around from Canon was 2 weeks...sensor repair & contacts replaced. Service was prompt, though staff not very friendly on the day.
  17. Ok...worked it out I reset my Lightroom to original format...once I put it in the right module it was recovered to the left..and yes there was my save! Whew. Must pay more attention to my clicks.
  18. I dont know how Ive done it, but somehow I have 'lost' a preset I saved this morning. I just opened lightroom to start work again, miss clicked and now the few presets are only to my right, not to my left as before....minus the one I had made for my friends photo group. What could I have done? I can remake the preset as I have still got the history but I dont want to do that (whatever it was ) again. Having the presets on the left is easier for me.
