  1. Such sadness. Thank you are sharing your heartfelt feelings with us all. Im sure many here have had the experience of losing their ♥ dog, certainly know what its like to grieve for a loved one. Time does heal the hurts but in the interim expressing it is such an important part of the journey. I offer my condolences to you at this time. When I lost my heart dog I held onto tis quote "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" Hold on to the blessings Millie brought to your life.
  2. All such lovely photos...so sweet to see how they have grown.
  3. Occasionally I capture Miss Rosies expressive eyes...much too often she sees a camera and goes all shy. Today was] really busy day today. Had an early appointment this morning, another appointment this afternoon and pretty much was out and about most of the day. Rosie usually follows me around the house but today I was so busy she laid by my chair and was content to just watch me move from room to room. I think her eyes say it all.... think she is looking forward to a Christmas break as well.
  4. Totally gorgeous, totally looking forward to watching them grow Congrats to all!!!
  5. Yes its all about the raindrop & the focus matching up. My shot was taken midmorning it was a heavy shower, thankfully I was under an eave.
  6. heartwarming...but sad knowing that they are the tip of the iceberg.too many dogs are treated this way.
  7. LOL its all bout priorities isnt it. camera lost a sea. TLC I think youre right its my subconcious telling me to do less dishes and more photography.
  8. Just interested to know if someone has ever had a nightmare of something happening to their camera. I woke the other night from a dream the other night where i remember standing at my sink doing the dishes. I was lamenting to the kids about constantly doing dishes and that there never seems to be an end to them. One of them asks for a spoon and I reach down into the suds and pull out my dslr. Do I panic...no because it had the lens cap on! I put it in the dishrack only to start crying when I get told you know its not waterproof. I really do need to have some wine before bed!!!!
  9. Just starting to catch up on all the wonderful pictures posted. What a talented bunch of people here.
  10. It is fun. I was so disappointed that it was training and I was housebound that I just decided to poke the head out the door and take a shot of something! Thanks for sharing your shots. Nice.
  11. Thanks I have missed so much. I so enjoy sharing in everyones passion for dogs & cameras.
  12. Thank you for the insight. It has been very unsettled around here. Currently as I hold top rank in my presence the bitches are fine. Management is now that they cannot be together when I am not here. I will continue to consider my options.
  13. I have two bitches that have lived in harmony for 4yrs. A month or so ago I desexed one of the bitches. Since then we have had three decent fights requiring intervention and separation. The bitch desexed was the dominant bitch. Both dogs with rough house play, eat and sleep together...but will fight over the right to be closer to members of the household...ie closer to a chair my son is sitting on. A stare here a niggle growl there and if we are not on the alert we have two fighting dogs. Is it just coincidence the fighting has started since one of them was desexed? I intend to desex the other bitch soon. In 25 years of owning bitches in a common household I have never come across this...maybe ive just been lucky.
  14. Ive been away from here for a bit. Its been steadily raining all day so I pointed the camera out the backdoor to take a piccy. Its only handheld shot (I havent made friends with my tripod) Anyway I thought Id share as I am only just starting to pick up the camera again.
  15. Condolences to you on the loss of Ollie. I have followed Ollie since coming to DOL. Heartfelt best wishes.
  16. She checked out all fine health wise, she has some milk engorgement but not unmanageable. I was not told to remove the toy from her keep.. Sway I have done that and despite some initial upset she is starting to settle as the night progresses. She is still looking/crying for "puppy" but will at least be distracted enough to eat a decent meal now. I have had many dogs but havent seen a phantom pregnancy. One bitch I had used to turn on the milk supply if there were pups in the house, but this one was unexpected. Thank you for your replies.
  17. No she has never been bred nor ever had a phantom. This morning her milk kicked in. Will advise & show the vet when we catch up this morning. I was always told never spay a bitch straight after a season due to tissue friability & hormonal issues, but I figured a month after would be just fine.
  18. Three days ago Miss Luci was desexed (one month past season, mid-line incision) Recovery was swift, she ate & drank on her return home several hours post op and passed urine etc...following that. Now however she is displaying signs of false pregnancy. She is hyperactive, digging & showing nesting behaviour. She has adopted a squeakly pink seal as her pup of choice and well it is with her everywhere. She carries it from nest to nest, whining and encouraging it nurse. Tried taking it off her and she near lost the plot...I ended up giving it back to her. If she is disturbed she will nest in another place, as we have another dog (Rosie) she is defensive and protective of her puppy (which in sadly Rosies favorite toy) so we need to separate them at the moment. Is this common? Is it a sign of infection? (the wound is clean & there is no discharge visible) She eats ok when she has time out from "puppy" though she is distracted. What are your thoughts? Appreciate feedback on this.
  19. How tragic. Sorry for your loss. My thought go out to you as well Miss Emma. Too many tears for me lately, so many much loved dogs have crossed the bridge of late.
  20. i tend to agree with the pessimests. in a interview they stated it will be comparatively priced to the conventional cameras. Hope not....for it may damage some peoples livelihoods.
  21. Hmmm - I can see why you are doubtful - seems very strange to me that a Registered breeder knows so little about dog behavior. Agrred how does one get to be a registered breeder without knowing basic husbandary facts????
