Miss Rosie has got gastro...we had visitors over the weekend and I think she had too many treats...I have had to leave her in her crate (much to her annoyance) her crying & jumping is getting to me. As a rule I know "never feed a sick tummy" are there other remedys I can offer her. She is elsewise normal, running and playing this morning, wanting breakkie...

A while back in a post I discussed the side effects of Advantix on my friends toy poodles. I myself will not use the product, I was disatisfied with the reply from the manufacturer and I didnt want to see the same thing happen to my poodles. My post here

Do Your Dogs Decide When Its Time To Leave The Computer?
redangel replied to redangel's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ok so obviously there are alot of canines monitioring computer use in the home these days. :D Love it -
My poodles will try in different ways to tell me when to get off the computer. Rosie will just leap into my lap and block the keyboard, her nose centremeters from my own. One of my dogs used to bark, then hit the power button, which is now why the computer is on and not under the desk. Luci adopts the from underneath stare technique....what do your dogs do??

Do You Have Both Eyes Open When You Shoot?
redangel replied to redangel's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos

I was watching a friend taking shots the other dasy & noticed she had both eyes open. I tried it and well it did my head in LOL. I can see advantages to having both eyes open but I dont seem, to master it in practice. Is there advantage to having both eyes open? Was just interested to see how others shoot.

Ill give it a go...maybe expand the theme to "living at home 2012" I could just document the house garden happenings & occupants of home

You said that you took Mojo to the vet. Was he/she not concerned that he was underage?? I am curious that if you are a germaphobe why you entered dog ownership...what do you want from owning a dog Gorilla? Companionship? Does your vet do puppy preschool because I feel that you & Mojo might well benefit from attending it. For the record as far as wild dogs go in the survival stakes they are hardly comparable to a domestic dog (aside from some behaviours)which has been domesticated and reliant on human provision of needs.

It is the kindest thing we can offer our companions when all has passed and there are no options. Sending strength for you tomorrow & the days following. It is an ultimate act of love and I pray peace for you in the days to come.

Thank you for the pictures Blonde. In my opinion I think the clipping doesnt look all too bad...I one of my poodles with a similar style to your (short over the body & bracelets. Occasionally I have had to shave down all four bracelets & start again because my much loved poodle brat has got one of them gunged up (ie like when she discovered compost) I shaved them all because she would look kind of funny. That being said the clip over the face and neck looks uneven to me, like the blades have been used in different directions haphazardly. Personally I would be changing groomers for this reason, not because of the shaved legs. Have you considered learning to groom your own dog?...the style you like is relatively simple and then you get creative control. Aside from show scissoring I have always clipped my own poodles..starting with the family poodle when I was eight.

I say a photo of the said disaster might well settle the argument of what constitutes 'disaster"..but unless we were privy to the 25min consultation or to a before photo we are left to express how we would feel if we were a. the groomer or b. the owner. I sympathize that the OP was displeased with the result but think there prime problem was communication.

Having had poodles for many years I have seen many a poodle groomed. Yes the topknot (ball on top of the head) is often seen done for poodles...contrary to your opinion it was done-that is wrong but on the good side it does mimimise hair falling in front of the eyes a cause of tearing in poodles. As for the shaving back of the legs if there was a contact number Id imagine it would have been more suiting if the groomer had of called you first. Not judging you, but I have seen many a pet poodle presented with "a few matts" wanting the hair "not to be shaved". Removing matts takes alot of time and much discomfort on the dogs part..(often people would not want to pay groomers for the extra time it would take to perform this task)This may simply be a matter of lack of communication. I feel the groomer may has done what was right for the dog rather than what you wanted...personally a [phone call would have been nice) Poodle hair grows back...perhaps you should consider dematting your dog yourself? Better still daily grooming would have prevented this from occurring in the first place.....Im sure your dog is more comfortable without the matts...Im sorry you didnt get what you wanted, but only hair was lost and next time you book a groomer you may want to be more clear and discuss calling you before changing any original arrangements.
