Enjoying all the shots....been really busy doing pics for other people & editing etc.... havent taken many shots for me this week....havent been able to take shots the last part of the week because all batteries are flat & chargers at another house (dont ask LOL) Hoping there is something I can put up for week 3 as my theme is around the house...all my shots this week have been everywhere else but the house  it would be cheating to put one of those up.

Great pics Kirislin!. Such a dainty little action going on there.

Poodles like activity and being very intelligent if you dont give them that activity, they will create it. Sounds like thisd one knows how to push your buttons. I no doubt when he barks he gets a reaction from you. Thus he has succeeded! You have been drawn from what you were doing & now all the attention is about him! Poodles need interaction. Even if you cant walk him due to injury create games to keep him active. When a friend of mine couldnt get around she strung a balloon in a doorway as a toy, hid pieces of food around the room & encouraged him to seek it, various fetching games, bought her dog some interesting toys.

This is so interesting! Based on some of the answers I would never have got Luci. I called up a breeder asked about the litter of pups that was advertised. One in particular was of interest, I liked the bio /photo and I wanted to know more about the lineage as it was so like my dog of 18yrs that I had just lost. I then took the information & looked at the lineage for health & such...I also enquired at the time about price. I did mention Id had poodles for about most of my life. I was not going to be able to get this puppy personally from another state & so freight was another enquiry. That was five years ago. Boy did I tick alot of the not boxes.

I have free use of a nikon 70-200mm 2.8 but Im less than impressed so far. It seems to hunt alot when not in manual mode (often when I use shutter) and I miss the shot. Tried it for dog action & zoomed out its fine but closer in blah! soft as. My personal lens a 50mm 1.4 is great for dog stuff, rarely misses. I have tried a sigma 500mm for a much cheaper option, trying to decide which lens I should go for in my next purchase. Am I just not "getting it' when it comes to the Nikon lens...everyone seems to like this lens...ALOT!

Never noticed it before now but my LR3 pictures that seem vibrant on screen in LR & in print true to this but seem to look dull when reproduced on my blog page? Exporting in Adobe format. Ideas???

It would be my understanding if present as a puppy a grade3/4 murmur would be audible. In my case the puppy affected had a grade 1 heart murmur and a specialist investigation couldnt pinpoint any structural faults. A followup 6 months later and the tests returned the same. I would like to think the breeder would give you a refund & should you want to take on the responsibility & expense of raising this pup (and the heartache) allow it to remain with you. That being said if the heart is degenerating so rapidly head over heart says that is a financial & emotional that you really need to consider. It is going to hurt no matter what or when. Is it fair to allow puppy to struggle? Only specialist veterinary advice and your situation can decide these things. I agree the breeder should have managed the pup to properly identify the situation & prognosis. Up to now has the breeder been supportive at all to the pups development post purchase? Good luck with the testing, hope things work out for you.

I have just decided through listening to other peoples experiences I wouldnt use it on breeds like bichon, poodles... I remember a few years back that the "heartguard" wormer was known for side effects in collies... obviously some breeds react differently to such things and one just needs to be aware when using products. I consider it personal responsibility where the company has done what it can to minimise adverse effects and has adequate warnings to be vigilant when choosing to use a product. Like for example "deet" in human insect repellants. One of my friends cannot tolerate it and it makes her quite ill. Many insect repellants have this product and many people use it with no issue. As said any chemical we contact can be a potential allergen.

Looks like pumpkin might just make the menu here...no end to what I learn in this forum! The vet called in last night and thinks it could be a protozoan infection / stress by having house guests so they are on antibiotics for the interim. They are very bright and bubbly this morning so I will offer them the pumpkin/chicken mix later this morning. Thanks all for your help.

Been there many times... A friend says to me "I wont own own a dog they dont live as long as people..its too sad" Yes it is sad but I have owned many dogs thankfully most have died around 15yrs of age. I am blessed in a way that as a human I may outlive many dogs but looking back many of my life chapters were shared with some amazing companions. I grieve the loss of each one, but find joy in knowing I may have the opportunity to be loved by another equally special canine soul. A dogs love is the honest thing Ive found. Thx for the share.

They are in their crates because they will sleep. They are extremely active and will follow me from room to room and im trying to minimise the damage. They do not tolerate outside very well. Is the pumpkin added for a reason Showdog? I understand the food has to be bland...Ive always used chicken & rice. Have phoned my vet hoping to get on his house calls today.

Had a very hectic few days so the camera didnt get to do much this week...quick selfie with one of my fav quotes. Will try harder this week coming

I been loving this thread...FM how could one get sick of looking at squishy pups! They would be such time consuming to have..Id loose hours just watching their antics. Must say the fawn boy is my fav. He has a "been here before" kinda look on his face, mature beyound his age. Thanks for sharing the family adventure.

I guess that is a substance that lines the gut & slows motility? Guess i need to find an Australian branding....any ideas? I want to give her a chance to get over this without antibiotics, she is jumping arounds as normal but has very loose motions & urgency.
