Dog That Loves To “mark” + A Puppy?
redangel replied to Oscar (AmBull)'s topic in General Dog Discussion
My friend has a small desexed boy who marks everytime he visits. I usually let him out back to "empty the tank" as it were. I have often thought of training him out of this using a belly band...not sure if this is not fair to him though. Interested to see responses to this one...great question OP -
Our Morgan Needs An Operation
redangel replied to Bullbreedlover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I think you are courageously giving Morgan every chance to see out her days surrounded by love. I pray you many special moments in the days she has left, when the time comes a peaceful passing & that you may find comfort in your grief knowing you have done all you can and how blessed your time together was. I wish you many cuddle times in the days ahead. -
That is very sad....as is all the conflicting reports. Im no expert in the pitbull as a breed but as I look at the photos the dog did not really fit what I would identify as a pitbull...perhaps a cross by stretching it. There is a report having been allegedly written by the dogs veterinarian that indicated that Rocco was stressing under the lifestyle, but in Hollywood who knows what is accurate in reporting. I see with my eyes and looking at the photos I see a man who loved his dog and died because he took that responsibility to love deeper than those who allegedly harassed him took for their actions. They are together in death RIP.

Experiment: Do Australian Dogs Recognize A Coyote?
redangel replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well I must have poodles with coyote backgrounds...Luci roused from a sleep instantly both dogs paced up and down the hallas the sound played. The yips got the most attention...then they both proceeded to have a fun rumble in the dayroom. -
I dont think dogs empathise as such but I do know they are very astute to body language and tones in your voice. My dogs are very tuned in to my "language" Whether I am upset or feeling a panic attack about to happen they are clearly aware by their actions toward me what is going on. Often they will draw to me if I am upset, I believe this not empathy but pack behaviour.

I remember my aunt adopting a feral kitten 20 years ago which subsequently got ringworm. I clearly remember getting a lesion on my hand. Question. I was of the understanding that ringworm occurs in the soil substrate naturally and it is only when immune deficient animals/man contacted an area thus affected would gain infection. If so unless there is a direct contact probability or formite transferal from an affected animal one cannot eleminate the chance of ringworm completely? I ask this as I read on a website about fostering kittens and one of the questions was about ringworm infection. Once ringworm has been on a property...is cleaning areas with halamid/antifungal preperations the animal had contact with may be the only measure? I ask this as I have often thought about fostering but want to ensure I dont risk problems further down the track.

Here is my week four: Australia Day. My house is directly under the flight path the Roulettes use for their display at a nearby event, so I get an air show in my backyard every year. Here is a shot taken as they did a stunt on my longer lens. Seriously maybe it isnt so good that they are over my backyard

Ive often thought of putting up a redbubble as like Kirislin because I find myself spending too much time doing freebies. I love doing freebies for friends but when friends of friends want a pic I do get a bit *sigh* about doing that. I love redbubble site I have one but have never posted. Does RB sales mean you are technically making money from pics and so drops "amateur" status for insurance & the like? How easy is it to steal off RB if you post a pic? Currently most ppl request pics of my FB, not secure I guess but low res pics. I have even had people come up to me and request pics of their child when attending my childs formal!!!

In my experience a person aggressive dog is a liability and not to me trusted, definitely not rehomed. Unless strictly managed it is like having a loaded gun sitting on the coffee table.

Guess this one I was working on early this week will have to do for week three, not too keen on it personally (was for a blog message about reframing your view of life) hopefully the battery chargers are back for this week pic.

Who Are The Better Rescue Groups ?
redangel posted a topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Hello again...I enquired in a prev post whether something was authentic or not in a recue FB post. Now further from that I have since read there are favorable/non favorable rescue groups doing the rounds on FB/net. As I am all for supporting groups can someone tell me what groups have a good reputation/ethic that I can add to my FB profile??? (and pm me those that I should stay clear of) Through my photography I do come across people genuininely interested in getting a "preloved" companion/ helping those who help dogs by donation...any help would be appreciated. -
It is its own website...for now

1. The term is breeding not breading. 2. It is Pyometra not pymetra 3. As per the quote"Oh and to the uninformed" I dare say there are many people here on this forum more experienced than you...and for the record..do you have a breeders prefix? Is there a reason such an equiry wasnt posted in the breeders community...where no doubt there are many people who are very well versed in the nature of canine reproduction. Perhaps you should take your bitch to the vet seeing it was he/she who supposedly informed you to mate your dog and will most likely be seeing your bitch in the near future, as you seem to have little faith in the opinion of others. Hope all goes well for the bitch involved.

I know the exact feeling when your examining vet goes quiet and 'gets that look" when examining a pup you have invested much into...I hope the hurt eases and one day you will find that special new member to your family
