  1. Yes I like! I am amazed by all different art forms. I have never heard of this Linocut art, very nice! I only recently discovered pyrography. When you think of all the skills involved in the process of such art forms the artists are to be admired.
  2. Rosie and Luci can be crated together, in fact they often choose to be in the same crate even when more are available. They will eat off the same plate. They play together all the time. When Rosie went to NSW for a spell Luci even went off her food (Trust me Luci LOVES her food) However we have had three good scraps where I have had to physically pick up two locked bitches which has resulted in a few good scratches & a couple of not so deep teeth marks. They are so focused on getting each other its a time out (out of sight for each other away from us) for half an hour until both have settled down. I know exactly how you feel MnD its heartbreaking to witness. It is a dominance issue here. I have since found the 'triggers" and I am careful to avoid them. The first is my bed. If the kids choose to pick one of my dogs off the bed it triggers them to get aggressive with each other. As I am alpha I can perform this, but the kids are not so good at showing their rank per se and so the dogs will challenge each other in fear one is being favored. Same with play, I can play fetch with my dogs, take the toy and such but if the kids do and take the toy the other dog will charge the one who has given up the toy. All incidents have been where the kids have been involved in the group and I have been absent (as by being indirectly in the room but not involved in the action.) Unfortunately my dogs see themselves as number two and three under me the alpha so when Im "absent" challenges happen. By supervising, avoiding situations where such occur and working with the kids/dog relationship things have got alot better. It is the exception for this aggression to pop up. I hope things work out for you MnD
  3. I like these guys:They look sweet. They are called Pumis. From the site "The Pumi is a medium-small terrier type from Hungary that has been used as a “general farm dog.”. They shepherd not only sheep but also cows and pigs. Most Pumis are gray, but are born black."
  4. They are pretty. You have an interesting backyard Kja
  5. I wonder what kind of butterfly it is. I am always curious about the bugs i photograph. Since I got my cameras i have become quite good at identifying many spiders & bugs because curiosity gets the better of me and I have to find out. I havent seen that ne in my Vic garden
  6. Narrative is a bit rough but the picture explains it Kirislin
  7. Lovely crisp shot, I agree that I was underwhelmed by the moon event
  8. It looks very better to my eye on rgb setting...I have calibrated with my Spyder on that setting. I was just curious as to whether there might be a preferred setting. Thanks Kja for the input. Loving the new screen, not loving the backlog of editing I have due to the time delay in getting it .
  9. I really enjoy looking at the wide subject range & varying photo styles on DOL it makes me want to try harder, learn so much more. I think photography appeals on so many levels, it can be stylish, artful or a snapshot of someones life/memory they wish to convey or keep safe. I love watching how DOLers experiment and get out of their comfort zones. I do miss however an active monthly challenge, I know this has been resurrected twice now and I wonder why it doesnt generate more interest. I think it helped me think of the elements that make up a photo. I do follow most of the photo threads, but I must admit I am challenged to comment on all that I want to time wise. Im a kinda all or nothing person, so if I cant comment on all: I tend to hold back a bit.
  10. My asus has finally arrived (so much for three days). KJA the settings on screen splendid, scenery, rgb...is there a preference here that you prefer? I currently have it on srgb...but im concerned because I output as a rule for printing on adobergb. Ideas here??
  11. Are Cane Corso a restricted breed???
  12. I would love to see this thread displayed as a poll (just for interest)
  13. My Favorite breed : Poodle (no surprise) If I couldnt have a Poodle Dobermann or a Kelpie (Ive owned Kelpies and Dobermanns both are great dogs for trail and obedience)..Id love to have a Whippet, Ive loved every Whippet Ive met :) My least favorite breed........Shih Tzu (they dont capture me as a breed, Ive known a few but they dont have the same drive workwise...Im sure they are nice companion dogs if you like the breed though.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Thanks KJA my son says I was being overly fussy, but after having a lovely monitor this tn screen is just not right in all regards. I feel vindicated! Im pleasd to hear what screen you have been using as the 23 Asus is the one I ordered as it seemed to be a reasonable price for my needs. There was a nice Samsung on offer, but a bit pricer. Cant wait to get a real screen, I have photos waiting!
  15. Congratulations TN ! How proud you must be of your trio.
  16. Oh my! I just luuurve these shots...I wish I was there to see the whippet frenzy in person ! !
  17. My favorite monitor has died after years of good service. I currently have a basic tn screen awaiting the ips screen. Everything looks washed out..I do have a spyder, but how does one suggest I alter the settings for brightness? My color temp is currently 65K. I cant wait for my new screen....
  18. A quicky snapshot of Miss Rosie resting with her favorite toy on in my sons lap a few hours after coming home after a few weeks away.
  19. Awwwwwwww BJ and IZZY are so smoochable!
  20. I think it is good manners to ask, some dogs have completed their campaign on the day and a request for a pat is ok. I think if you are genuinely interested in a breed most exhibitors are quite happy to listen & chat. I guess there are also some people who come to look at dog shows to treat them like free petting zoos and so in the case of the exhibitor you spoke to she may have encountered some of these. Ive seen it where people shove whiny kids at dogs to appease them with "pat the nice doggie!" Poor form. Especially in the coated breeds handling can upset the coat presentation during show handling is not encouraged. Agreed different people have different opinions on people touching their dogs so it is no hard rule on this. Also some people lack the skills to convey their concerns in a nice way :)
  21. Having googled Bandogs I can see there a reasons why the red flag went up at council registration : they are linked to the Pit Bull gene wise in their lineage. As a restricted breed they may be investigating on account that it may be a Pitbull by another name. Yes that is an unfair assumption but I guess a name is just that a name unless proven otherwise. If you were here in Vic where appearance is the defining judgement it seems you would most likely have no recourse. Scary situation is unfolding in your case so Id suggest getting legal advice promptly. Interesting to see a pic of your dog.
  22. It looks like a iris cyst, but I am not a vet therefore I would recommend having it checked out. You would hate to let it go and find out later it was a melanoma or such. I wish you all the best for a simple answer to this question.
  23. "Awwwwww you made me ink" Nice pic!
