  1. Yay for Perry! Attagirl It's a delight to watch, isn't it Paula?
  2. Rest in peace, sweet Brodie Gone but never forgotten.
  3. What a lovely fella. Thinking of you today as you make your decision. I'm so sorry you have to do this.
  4. So sorry you had to let your best friend go, KitKat. He'll be in your heart forever.
  5. When we lived in Virginia, dogless, our neighbours were kind enough to let me walk and play with their Yorkshire Terriers -- Tinker and her daughter Spunkey -- at every opportunity. We looked after them and the rainbow lorikeet, Lorey, every time they went away. A fairly overweight Tinker developed diabetes and pancreatitis earlier this year, and after several months of insulin and a very bland diet, she ended up in the vet's emergency room on Christmas morning. With insulin every two hours, she seemed to be pulling through but finally gave up the ghost on 26 December. At 4.30pm her time had come, and our dear neighbours sent her to play at the bridge. Rest in peace, Tinker. You'll be sorely missed, beautiful girl.
  6. Rest in peace, Hapi, you gorgeous lad. Hugs to you and yours, Olly.
  7. It sounds like she's not quite out of the woods yet, but she sounds like a tough little blighter. I bet she'll pick up once she's home with you and yours. I'll keep thinking strong thoughts just in case they're needed!
  8. Sure is weird! Fingers crossed for Jr.
  9. Oh, Jintanut, I have no words for you ... just hugs
  10. Sway's and Rosie's dad is gone? But he was only young? RIP Blue
  11. So sorry you have to let your beautiful girl go, Kayla's Mum. She'll be waiting for you at the bridge
  12. Wow, Jodie, it sounds like Ollie is responding really well. And what a vet! Everything sounds like it's going according to plan. It's such good news. Keeping fingers and paws crossed that Ollie stays infection-free and happy Thinking further tumour-shrinking thoughts ...
  13. Ooh, Greenbank. Thanks, folks, I think Paula mentioned them a little while back and I've been racking my brain trying to remember who they were ... I'll add them to my list of haunts!
  14. Hi Lillysmum, And welcome Hope the move went well! We get Jack's recreational bones from our local butcher, Dumbrell's, on Donald Rd. They also have offal and rabbit, I think, but I've never bought it. The chicken shop at the Fyshwick Markets has carcasses, chicken necks, duck wings, turkey wings etc ... as well as rabbit and a heap of other stuff ... chicken livers, hearts and so on. Everything poultry, really, plus a few extras! Barry Hawke's butcher at Fyshwick Markets also has marrowbones (which are usually gone by midday on Saturday) and fairly fatty lamb offcuts as well as lamb necks and shanks. We scour the fridges at Qbn Coles and usually get cheap human-grade meat that way ... Jack occasionally feasts on raw lamb cutlets, t-bone steak and the like. They also sell offal but, again, I haven't tried it. The one time we gave Jack liver, he rolled in it repeatedly ... and he wouldn't touch the kidney or ox heart we tried him on. Cardawan's Pet Supply, suggested by petmezz, is on Uriarra Rd. I think you can also get raw meats from Petbarn at Fyshwick in their "pet deli" section. But some others will probably pop in here with alternative sources for bulk purchases ... might just have to wait until they get to their work computers on Monday.
  15. Wishing Ollie all the strength in the world to pull through this :strong:
  16. Keeping everything crossed for Ollie the miracle dog The prognosis does sound good, and I'm sure Ollie will pick up on your positivity
  17. She's had a mighty good innings and still has some fight in her yet. Treasure your time together
  18. Take care of yourself, Jodie, and drive safely. It sounds like you have a lot on your mind ;) If I can do anything at this end, give me a yell . Hugs to Ollie dog.
  19. Poor Busta and poor you. So much trauma in so little time. ;)
  20. Oh, Jodie, how heart-wrenching!! Ollie is such a fighter. Hopefully some locals can recommend a holistic vet (isn't there one at Hall???) to keep Ollie comfortable for the precious time he has left. Here's hoping he defies the odds. :strong:
