Thanks Nic. When we are there she is perfect! It has amazed us how quickly she has responded to training. Sit, drop, stay and recall are no problem. Its when we are at work that the shenanigans start! We will see how we go now that she cant get out and temptations are removed.

Yup I take both of them out for about 45 mins in the morning. We go to the off lead park where they chase and play flat stick. We do obedience with her in the afternoons so maybe mixing it up with mornings will help. They also have soccer balls, kongs, ropes etc to play with during the day. I imagine they would be fine with bones but I prefer not to leave that to chance. They are totally knackered by the time we get home from work so I know they are playing quite a bit. When she is a little older my husband will be able to take her running with him in the mornings also.

I hope she finds one of my husbands socks so I can do it to him

Thanks I would love for there to come a day where they can both have access to the house but not sure she can be trusted.

Some of you may know that we adopted Asha, a Staffy X rescue about 2 months ago. Asha has now well and truly settled into her new home and has been getting up to no good! She LOVES to find socks, take them out to the backyard and either chew or bury them. Her latest effort was to dig under the house and escape from the back yard to our front yard. Our front yard is totally enclosed by fence luckily. We already had Charche our almost 2 year old Stafford who we now know is an angel! He had the choice of being inside or outside (dog door) as he never chewed a thing. He also never dug the garden. We tested this out with Asha and she had a little taste of the couch so they are now both confined to the backyard with access to the laundry during the day. I cant even leave a bed in there as she chewed that to pieces. I then tried putting a blanket down on the ground and that was pulled through the dog door and half buried. Anyway my question is - How do I discipline/train her when Im not there to catch her in the act? I should add that we have Asha proofed the areas where she can dig out now. Here is the cheeky muffin for those of you who havent seen the trillion pics I post of her. Butter wouldnt melt huh?

Oh they are so gorgeous!!! Such beautiful babies!! Oh I'm jealous you get to cuddle them!

Glad you like it! Upside down - Cam had Charche pinned while he tickled him but all poor Charch wanted was to get back to the frisbee!

Hope you dont mind me popping in occasionally this month! No time to do them all. Wind

*nods* when you live out in the sticks..and have friends/business dealings in 3 states.. it is handy to have LOTS of phone books ( the puter is not always on) They should cover that then! Glad to hear he got some crusts. 100 points for initiative! -
Oh god its never ending isnt it!? Dont go showing me all these cool bags, I have to buy the cool lenses first! Why did I choose the hobby that costs so much On a side note - kja you always spend a lot of time on your posts answering our questions and have lots of great info, so thanks for sharing ;) (what a suck!)

Thanks It would be great to see if you can have a play with a Sigma and see how you go. I didn't see a problem at all. I know there are some places you can hire them, that might be an idea? Oh these toys are too bloody expensive!

Shell its the best!! In the end I couldnt justify an extra $1000 or so bucks for differences (if any) that im not sure I would even notice. Poomother the main difference is Sigma doesnt have IS (image stabilization). The dogs were pegging it around and my mate had a fair pace on her bike and I had no problems without this. There are endless debates on other photography forums and the verdict is pretty split. Annie thanks for the heads up! Anything that means I can get it sooner! There is a guy on this forum http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ who is a proffesional sports photographer I have been reading a lot of his posts about settings. I am now only shooting in M and found what he said below useful I will probably choose an aperture of f/2.8 (wide open to minimise the DoF) and a shutter speed of 1/1000s (fast enough to freeze the action, but not so fast that I have to set too high an ISO). Therefore I will take a meter reading and use the ISO as my variable to get that particular combination. If the combination is not possible (low light), then I will reduce my shutter speed accordingly. Anyhoo, heres my exif data - Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000) Aperture: f/2.8 Focal Length: 200 mm ISO Speed: 1600

Ahahaha whoops! No Kirislin there is no 20-700. Posting after midnight can make you do strange things... The black dogs name is Jabba and he's a local at our off lead park. I am also adamant that he has Sharpei in there but they were told Staffy X Lab. Who knows. Kja its going to kill me having to wait. My little 50mm looked sad when I put it on after. Birthday is in May and hubby is hinting that i'll have it then. PooMother im with you. I only said yesterday that when im rich I want a walk in wardrobe full of lenses! The problem with this hobby we all love is that its a very expensive one!

As some of you know I was lucky enough to borrow anniek's Sigma 70-200mm lens today and have a play. I am 100% sold on getting this as my next lens. I only had a couple of hours but love the results for my first go (It was also the very first time I met a doler!)

Well this morning I had a play with Anniek's Sigma 70-200. I am totally sold! For the price compared to Canon I am definately getting this one. Its unreal!! I took some shots at the dog park and also got a mate to ride around on her bike. Will post some pics over the weeeked. Again, a HUGE thanks anniek :D -

Ooh that would be fun. Whippets would certainly put the lens to the test. Take in a winery.. or 2... or 3... -

Thanks Ripley Oh man I am so confused. I have found a couple of threads here http://photography-on-the.net (great forum) comparing the sigma to canon and its really divided. There are some really great points on both sides and I have seen some brilliant photos from the sigma. Decision comes down to having IS and a fraction faster focus speed (say some) Hmm .. can I be patient enough to wait ... Edited to add that I am meeting the amazing anniek and her sigma on Sat morning to have a play. How nice is that?! -

Bec I have the Sigma 70 - 200. If you want to have a play with mine you are quite welcome. Wow anniek that is so nice of you!! Really really nice of you! I may just take you up on that, I get down your way quite a bit. Should I leave you one of my dogs as a deposit?
