The reason they say these things are toxic to dogs as if affects some more than others. I know of one dog who ate lots of macadamias and appears to be its normally hyper self, right until it when in seizures and was rushed to the vet I work for with a temp of 41c. Much easier just to stay away from things that are highly potential reactions.

She's a border collie x kelpie. I'm devestated as I was keeping this pup. I then got my job and was talked into rehoming her by my family as I didn't have time to train a pup. We then got our working dog which has filled us to capacity. I've cried every night as I don't know what to do with her. Its not fair to be locked up all the time.

I really need someone who can take on little Priya. Priya was born at my property on the 25th of July last year. I homed her and her sisters with the stipulation is anything goes wrong I'm to be offered the dogs back. Priya's owners called me on Wednesday last week saying their circumastances had changed so they can not keep her. I told them to bring her back to me, she arrived here Friday. My two older dogs have decided they hate her, so I've had to put her in the dog run I've got. Unfortunately for an active dog, it really sucks. She's going mad as I'm not home from 7.30 until 6-7 at night - which means she locked up for that entire time. She's dexesed, vaccinated, wormed, heartwormed and has graduated puppy pre-school. If someone has room that could hold her until she can be homed or if someone knows anyone who could adopt her. I'll take some photo's of her tonight, I've only got her baby photos atm. If anyone has the room, I can supply her dog food, she just needs someone who can house her. Please please help I'm really desperate.

Behaviourist Recommendation
Everythings Shiny replied to Whippetsmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd reccommend Steve too - he's done some wonders with a friend of mines dog. Her dog was such a vicious little thing, but Steve worked around my friend and her dog and now he's a more relaxed little pooch. Can't fault him at all! -
I don't feed mine mince due to my oldest girl gets enormous on it. I'd look at what some of the other guys have suggested :)

they are not used on greyhounds cause they bite people Agreed! Greyhounds are such gorgeous animals - such a misconception about them though

Surepet Kmart Dry Dog Food
Everythings Shiny replied to Carlo11's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I bought a bag to trial and it was okay. I've gone back to DogPro working dog mix though. -
I've only read the first post, but in this case - I'd either PTS or put in some serious intensive training.

My girl Serenity-Jayne is "Serena", "Rini" or "Princess". Paige gets "Pudgey", "Fudge" or "Fat Stuff". Diesal gets "D" or "DeeDee". Smokey is "Smooch" and Jimmy is "Jimbaroo" Ours all come to any of their names, Paige generally comes running as soon as she hears my voice :)

My dogs have a "there's something strange around" bark which is different to anything else they bark at. If they spot someone, they're all over them if we are with them, but if I'm not there. D gets on the defence straight away. The other two watch him and play off of him.

Vaccine Reaction In A Pup. Help Please.
Everythings Shiny replied to bianca.a's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Alert your vet to the reaction. There is an injection we give to sensitive patients that can stop reactions to the vaccine. We've had a few react to that brand as well and have since changed brands. I'd look at the nasal Kennel cough from Protech - we've yet to have a bad reaction with it yet :) -
Ticks In The Hunter Valley
Everythings Shiny replied to Echo's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'm Smooch's daughter - there has been quite a few tick outbreaks in our area. I'd use a preventic collar just to be on the safe side. I don't on mine as we don't have wildlife in this area traipsing through the place. You could also use something like Advantix every two weeks for a month proceeding the show to build up a chemical tolerance. Daily tick searches are a must :) -
I Feel Like I' M Being Manipulated ......
Everythings Shiny replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
To the OP I would personally walk away. My last dog was a failed foster. Maybe look into fostering, you can help staffy's and maybe you'll find the 'right' one for you. Thats what happened with Serenity-Jayne and I. She's my gorgeous little trouble maker. There are so many nice staffy's in the shelters and pounds at any one time. Or you could look into adopting from a rescue that has staffy's. There are options out there :) -
I can't see much difference. Our clinic has just started selling a product called Nutricoat - made by Troy Laborotories. We're having some amazing skin results with it so far :) Might be worth looking into :)

Yay for Zero! Give him a big hug for me Shell :) So good to see him with Jedi and Ahsoka. Loveliest dogs :)

Some animals will react to "synthetic" material as it isn't something the animal's body is used to being in contact with Lumps (unless abcess) are generally classified as a clean surgery so some vets wont prescribe Antibiotics, although I've noticed more and more vets prescribing them over the last few years or so. Hope it heals nicely for you now :)
