  1. ...so where are bedazzled and ptolomy's brags???
  2. Well done Ptolomy. The duckdogs love this weather
  3. Did you do Novice RS? I opened my eyes at 7.00am and heard the rain...and rolled over and went back to sleep Yes, dedicated
  4. Woo hoo, Alex won MA and MJ, 2nd in OA and 6th in OJ
  5. Certainly do! It is your reward history. High distraction = lots of rewards.
  6. Um Caffy was it you or Snaz that was having trouble focusing in the sit position :D Well, you could say I really enjoyed that training session
  7. Persist with it MM. A day before our last obedience trial, our neighbour’s roof was being tiled with about 5 beefy guys standing on the roof causing my bc to constantly bark at them. All I did for that session was reward focus in a sit position. Must have worked…he got 199 in his next trial.
  8. If it was in heelwork where my dog lost focus, I would just stop heeling , step aside and take my hands away from the heel position I have them in to cue heeling. They realise that looking away is not part of the picture and generally when focus returns, we take off again and I will click within the first few steps if they truly commit to what we are doing. If they wander off to sniff, then I don’t grab collars, I just play tap their butts or step on the “smell”…I may ask for handtouches and get them focused back on me and have them wanting to play heeling again. When they are focused, then we take off again and I’ll click and treat within the first few steps.
  9. http://www.yourdogphotos.com/displayimage....=426&pos=84 Here's a photo by Tim Abidin of my Snazzy. This was the OJ Final. He was such a good boy for all his heats and final...4th in the OJ final, 1st in OJ heat 1, 4th in Novice Snooker and 1st in Novice Gamblers.
  10. Totally agree with you ozjen! Noone went home without a prize I've never been so relaxed at a Nationals(and that's saying something ) and that is down to the format and the relaxed attitude of the stewards and officials. All in all, the 4 day format was brilliant in my eyes and I know how much work went on with the Committee to make it happen. Well done ANWA Committee...you guys deserve the trophies
  11. I'm here Ptolomy!!! Yes, I heard the comments...I couldn't stop laughing watching the video! But despite Alex's leaping efforts, he was sooooo happy that I just let it go. Yep, you're doing the contacts in Pairs :D Do you trust him with a seesaw??? He loves his seesaw
  12. Sorry, NO training next Wednesday night at K9. The courses will be put up during the afternoon for the Nats.
  13. ps..I think that means cake tonight
  14. What a good boy he was You handled him beautifully bedazzled
  15. Why am I not surprised Brooklyn is an Australian Shepherd. That, or a border collie. Scoota is a NSDTR and did some nice work too
  16. Well done to Vickie and Trim for winning MJ at the Sydney Royal :D
  17. That's disappointing. I was wondering how Snazz and I'd go in a day trial. I slept in this morning instead after 2 nights of ADAA I know..very slack
  18. ..forgot to add that once she has taken the food and turns to come back, then throw food behind you. In the glove ex you want a quick pick up and a quick, straight return. But also vary that...sometimes throw , sometimes ask for a present.
  19. While you are doing that , find yourself a small container. Put a piece of food on it(show your dog you are putting food on the container) and just have yourself and your dog facing it...no turns. Only be a short distance away. She should be looking at the container, lower your left hand next to her head in the direction of the container. Wait until she "locks" on...my dogs slightly hold their breath..then send with a verbal and slight hand movemnet forward. Play around with that...increase the distance..but just use one container at this stage.
  20. Well said mmoo and bedazzled!!! For me it's your feet! Feet straight pointing to your glove...another one from the Guru
  21. Congratulations Rubystar Great scores. Boy, Ruby looks knackered ;)
  22. Wow ;) She is going great...so confident. Well done guys!
