  1. and... is he registered with a state canine control council? Does his breeder assess him as suitable for stud work?
  2. Maybe, I know that Dot gets a lady to make them - maybe it's Ruth! Email Dot for piccies??
  3. Thanks what are dot's made out of? Thanks Cassie They are made out of rubber backed curtain material with good zippers.
  4. I voted yes because I do think that that they are the same breed but of two different 'types' i.e. the show type and the other/working type. I feel it is very similar to the differences between the show or 'bench' kelpie and the working kelpie types. The same distinctions between the show type and the working type is frequently mentioned around the ringsides about many different breeds.
  5. Try here: Contact : Dot Williams Location : Harden NSW Ph : 63865042 Email : [email protected] I've been very happy with mine from this source.
  6. Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, wheatens gotta jump up on people. How else are you going to be the recipient of one of those gorgeous up-on-back-legs cuddles???
  7. Can't remember just where I got this from but I think I heard once that it should take you no more than 6 seconds to stack your dog.
  8. Beautiful Ava is not mismarked, her colouring is very uncommon/ rare/ unique IMHO
  9. Yes....classy, elegant and just a little bit prickly at times
  10. It's no fun out in the yard at that hour of the day without you - go out with her and encourage her to do the right thing then bring her back inside, back to her bed and give her a favourite toy of something chewy to occupy her. Go to bed yourself and ignore all protests. My 2c worth.
  11. I am getting really excited!!! Crufts starts within the next 24 hours. Does anyone know if the catalogue of entries is online?
  12. just to offer an additional bit of info.: puppy teeth can feel rock solid one day and then fall out quite suddenly. they needn't go through a looseness at all.
  13. I had a lovely enjoyable, social time showing my dogs for almost ten years - and then I got a dog which was competitive. Instead of hearing nastiness whirl around the ring without touching me, suddenly some of it was coming right at me. I somehow don't enjoy showing quite as much now. I find it hard to cope with the grief sent my way just because I'm something of a threat. I try to remember that I have a life outside of dogs and this renews my perspective.
  14. I've heard good things about Nepean Shores Resort. About 40 min.s drive to the Showground.
  15. If it was your dog that hurt theirs I would offer to pay all their veterinary expenses and call over to check on the pup.
  16. The specific terms for temperament from the Breed Standard for the Kerry Blue Terrier are 'disciplined gameness'. This is interpreted by fanciers as the dog being up on its toes and alert with every fibre of its being when in the presence of other dogs but never, ever launching, barking or snapping. Rather, relying on and trusting it's handler to be the one in control of any situation involving interaction with other dogs. A very fine line indeed for the dog to balance upon.
  17. I have lived with a very happy dog who was debarked before I got him. I wouldn't advocate debarking but if it's either that or lose the dog, get your dog debarked. He'll be fine.
  18. It's used a lot in rural area for foxes and wild dogs. It may be put out as buried baits which are supposedly removed after a specified time if not taken. Also dropped from the air in remote areas/national parks. My local wild dog association lays baits along the roads near my place. I don't dispute the need to combat feral animals but 1080 is inhumane. I couldn't agree more - it is inhumane. Farmers are a strong lobby on the ongoing availabilty of 1080.
  19. I will definitely be barracking for Kerry Blue Terrier dog, Echo who is the sire of my gorgeous girl. Echo won BOB at both Westminster AND Montgomery last year. Will try to stick in a little picture of him.
  20. Can't really answer your question but have recently learned that Pyrenean Mountain Dogs have double dewclaws on their hind feet to assist them with climbing rocky, steep terrain.
  21. Does anyone know why there are 50 (yes, 50!) ACDs entered. Is the judge a breed specialist? Oh and by the way, GO ACD's yay!
  22. 4 Kerry Blue Terriers I have two but who are the others? I wonder, I wonder....
