One Of The Consequences Of Sleeping With Dogs.
Dame Aussie replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
I turned over the other day to find my face firmly in Lili's crotch while she lay on her back cockroach style....nice. We haven't had poo in the bed but we've had vom, that gets wiped then washed in the morning. Dog vom these days is like water to me  -

Surrendering Found Dog To Rescue Rather Than Pound?
Dame Aussie replied to Pailin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Please don't let physical condition influence your decision. Dogs can lose physical condition very quickly. He may have been on the run for a while, or just a short time but have become very stressed. They can also pick up parasites whilst on the run which can deteriorate condition quickly as well. Take him to a vet for a microchip scan if you can. Otherwise, I would notify local vets, councils, shelters, the local paper's found classifieds and online lost and found sites that you have found him, and then take him to the RSPCA. The RSPCA/AWL/council pound is the first place owners go looking for lost pets, and if they are looking for him, it's the best place for him to be. Tracking a dog through websites and/or rescue groups is much more difficult, and has failed in some cases altogether when a bad judgement call is made. If you are concerned that he won't be reclaimed, as another poster said, I believe you can put your name down to adopt after the reclamation period is up, and you can organise for a rescue to take him on. Edit - I used the wrong bracket to bold... Agree with this. You don't know anything about the dog so can't assume things due to condition etc. he needs to go to the pound so he can be found by his owners and you can put your name on him if you're worried. -
Hahaha! I can see Stan opening an eye from his bed and then going back to sleep from all the energy expended... T. No no, Stan would welcome them, but only after making them open the fridge for him first! :D  Yes he would...Excuse me mate but before you pick up that flatscreen could you unlock this bloody fridge. No sharing of the pie inside though....

If someone came in while we were out Lili (Aussie Shepherd) would bark and growl but I think she would just avoid them more than anything. Mosley (anatolian) would probably eat them alive, that's if his barking and growling weren't enough to convince them it wasn't worth the risk. If we were home and threatened, same deal.

You shouldn't be held accountable and I don't think you'd be responsible, but other non dog crazy people migh not feel the same. That's what worries me. We've already had another poster start a thread and say she hopes the neighbors "take care" of the dog in question.

Exactly SL

I agree RubyBlue, but if an idiots kid stocks their hand through the fence and gets it bitten off you'd better bet your dog will be in trouble. That's why I like to cover up gaps, of course we shouldnt need to and if others don't want to that's fine, but I like to protect myself and my dogs against others stupidity.

Great pics, fully agree. :)

Yeah I can't see Lili keeping one on. She hates wearing anything. I tried to put a nice coat on her in winter once. She just sat there refusing to move and looking at me like I'd killed her whole family  so dramatic. Your two are so gorgeous Stans Mum :)

That's AWESOME yellowgirl!

I can just see my Mosley with one of these

I'd keep the dog inside, or build a secure run you can keep the dog in that won't allow anything to be thrown in. Get cameras and if you catch them take it straight to the cops, be persistent. Have you had an altercation with them in the past?

OMG  , they're both stunning
-
Yep  what's ours is theirs...

What Have You Found In Your Dogs Bed
Dame Aussie replied to pirate's topic in General Dog Discussion
My Aussie has an obsession with rubber duckies. We buy her one whenever we see them as it's the only thing she will play fetch for She ends up ripping their heads off within a few weeks. Doesn't stop her though, she will often bring a head to me to be thrown  -
Yes, I just wouldn't risk it.

Just horrible I'd be a mess if I were the owner
-
Shit! That's pretty full on I don't think you're overreacting at all Alyosha. How scary, and horrid for both you and the young owner First instinct is to report, but I can see why you're hesitant. Do you think if it was reported the family would respond accordingly? Or are they likely to ignore any advice etc from council? I hope you're ok.

Every time I change our bedding Mosley is up on it in a flash, he LOVES a freshly made bed  -
