I'm not a breeder, but if I was, there's no way I'd sell off puppies for somone to resell....I'd want to check out the buyers myself.

Good Thoughts For Penny Whippet Please
Dame Aussie replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thank Dog she's ok, I would've torn that dog a new a**hole :D What's with all these off lead dogs???! -

Hip Dysplasia ,i Don't Know What To Do...help
Dame Aussie replied to bridie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd reduce her food by a wee bit more Bridie, it's too much if she still hasn't lost any weight. The swimming sounds good, I reckon you'll get great results if you keep with it! -
Lili does that!! The other day she flopped onto her back and landed on Mosley Should've seen the look on her face, it was like "Crap I can't flip back, he's gonna bite me!" She has flopped off the couch, off the bed.....such a nerd

Classic, almost splurked my coffee picturing that

Lili has a thing for stuffed toys, especially Elmo. If there is one in the house she will find it and if it's up- high, sit there for hours staring....when she gets it she treats it like a baby and attacks Mo if he goes near her Mo likes to have things in his mouth, underwear/socks/bottles/anything! He holds them in his mouth and makes this woooo-woooo sound

If you are giving Milbemax for heartworm it must be given monthly. Sentinel Spectrum is easiest as it does cover everything including tapeworm.

Do You Have Dogs That Look Identical To Each Other?
Dame Aussie replied to Moselle's topic in General Dog Discussion
A friend of mine adopted two shelter dogs that have grown to look like brother and sister, I can only tell them apart by their collars!!! They're both cross breeds too! -
Lili has sucked on pillows/cushions/toys since a pup and whenever she comes inside from being out the back she will go straight to her pillow and settle down for a suckle. Every time without fail. She also does it when she's nervous or stressed. She also kneads at it with her paws...pretty cute. Mosley paws . Honestly, I wish we never taught him to give his paw, if he wants attention he gives his paw, when he meets new people he gives his paw, if he is excited he will give his paw, if he is trying to get Lili to play he will paw at her....

Is It Possible For Dogs Temperment To Change This Much?
Dame Aussie replied to ash&elar's topic in General Dog Discussion
If the staffs experience with this dog included him acting aggressively towards them they have no option but to PTS. The people who surrendered him would have been told that he may be PTS, maybe they should have tried harder to rehome him as they took on the responsibility when they took him on as a pet. Don't criticise the staff at the shelter, the people surrendering are the ones taking the easy way out. -
Yay Hudson! So glad he's doing well Cassie, he's such a gorgeous boy ;)

Hoping Hudson's doing well this morning Cassie

It's possible Pia brought it back, and as others said it could be from anywhere, dogs in the neighbourhood or next door. Poor Tilly

The scratch isn't actually on or in the eye though, it's on the flesh just next to the eye. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, it looks fine today so I'm just keeping an eye on it.

OH said he same thing Nekhbet, I'll see how it is tomorrow but I'm not too worried as it is just on the skin. Thanks

From what I know some first signs can be : *Trying to vomit unsuccessfully. *Whining, drooling, hunching over, generally acting as if uncomfortable or in pain *When you put your ear to the stomach the absence of any normal digestive sounds like gurgling etc. *The dog actually looking bloated I'm sure there are heaps more but these are what I normally keep an eye out for with Mo. ETA: Snap fifi

Oh no cassie, I hope Hudson pulls through with no issues

Just noticed a bit of blood just at the outer corner or Mosley's left eye. Had a closer look and there's a teensy scratch just next to his eye, not his actual eye, no idea what he's done, whether he scratched it himself or did something out in the yard? It doesn't seem to be bothering him. I've cleaned it and it doesn't look too bad and I'll take him into the Vet tomorrow, but was just wondering if there was anything else I could/should do until then? TIA

Pugs are bred to be companions and companions only! They tend to serve their fuction pretty dam well I think. but how much of the standards are cosmetic only? - The Australian Shepherd Standard still calls for a docked tail. And what about breeds who appear to serve no function (not sure about this but maybe a pug - what are they meant to do?)? - I don't follow. Nonsporting breeds are designed to be companions to the best of my knowledge? True! Good blimmin point. In my early hour daze I forgot about that bit, so disregard that LOL What I am truly asking, is how many of the standards are really bettering the breed and how many are purely cosmetic I guess. Maybe the pug would come into the case where perhaps the spine bends a little to get a tight corkscrew???? Not sure, but hopefully that explains what I am asking a little better. The pug standard was changed a smidge not to long back to stop people breeding to the exteme. Things like nose and eye rolls were getting to big. No idea what your on about with bent spines I have one here with a straight tail (obvious fault) and one with a double twist there is no different in how they move or in their spines...ones tails just curls the other doesnt. Can you expand on that at all? I know there was one of those Pedigree Dogs Exposed shows a while ago which talked about Pugs having bent spines, maybe that is what the OP is talking about? I know little about Pugs, except that they're greedy and cute as buttons

I feel your pain Kirty, it's so upsetting when they do things like this. When Mosley was a pup he ripped up the carpet in our rental property ripped the lino in the kitchen and pulled the phone point out of the wall, got into the pantry (don't even ask me how as the door had a knob not a handle) and ate EVERYTHING in there, pissed on our bed and ripped the mattress to pieces, clawed all the doors in the house and got into some paint I didn't even know we had and spilt it on the carpet..... When he was settling for the night he would slowly turn his head and start chewing on whatever furniture was in reach...... He's almost 2 now and is soooooo much better, but we still can't leave him inside unsupervised.
