*nods* eyes, ears, teeth, skin folds,...all sorts of things . No way!! That's $%@!# up! I also don't really get the ear taping either to be honest. If people want to do it, of course it's up to them, go for it, but it just seems unfortunate that WE project our issues to do with "perfection" onto them when they're beautiful the way they are. Just my 2 cents though, I think your puppy is going to be gorgeous whether the taping works or not.

I have done it with both my dogs as pups and had no issues and haven't heard it was a problem? I would only do that with a baby puppy though. If there are issues that's fine, but I haven't had any.
-
No, the puppy can't catch something off a person. You're safe

My two still do zoomies, especially Mo and he's 3 now.

I think she's too little to really understand what you want her to do. Have you tried actually picking her up and placing her in the area you want her to be? If you do this maybe she will get the idea? I would second getting a barrier though too, dogs are opportunists and if they can get in, they will! Both of my dogs "backchatted" when they were little, I kinda liked it

Can anyone recommend a bomb for inside the house, we have just found another rogue flea

I don't think I have tried that one yet ? must look into it ! I was going to get Capstar but they only had the Comfortis so we tried that and it worked really well!

Oh No! I've Been Lulled Into A False Sense Of Security
Dame Aussie replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
Naughty!! Great visual though, sheltie zoomies would be adorable! -
You're not a bad owner! I'll come clean....I noticed a single evil little flea the other week and my dogs have NEVER had fleas, I was mortified Straight to buy some Comfortis and they're all gone. It must be the weather as I have never seen a flea on either of my two before, and yes I felt like a bad owner too

Oh no, poor poppet. I don't have any other advice than what you've already done. Don't blame yourself for not noticing though, sometimes it takes a while to really notice the little buggers. Hope they're gone soon.

Question About French Bulldog Pricing
Dame Aussie replied to Chris the Rebel Wolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thanks for your replies. I guess it was this post that really piqued my interest: If even top class show and breeding stock are so vulnerable and require so much intervention, doesn't that speak to some sort of fundamental health issue that needs resolving? My two are working line dogs and I don't know anything about French Bulldogs which is why I'm so curious. I've always been curious about this too, about what is being done to improve the health of breeds that are prone to so many issues? Or if that's just the way they are and will always be? All good....oakway answered as I was typing -
Yes we have used them and I had no complaints. We took both our dogs to puppy school there The nurses are lovely and very knowledgeable and all the vets we saw were great, one of the vets, David I think? is fantastic, a good listener too! We've moved out of that area now and have found somewhere else through recommendations but if we were in that area I'd still use them.

A Springer would need much more exercise than a walk every second day, so would a Goldie and probably a Collie aswell. The guiant breeds can be a bit more placid, ours is at the smaller end of the scale but he is very gentle with kids and smaller dogs and doesn't need as much exercise as our other dog. However, he is walked every day. I would maybe look at dogs that are less active if you can only take them out every second day.

Mosley did something similar a week or two ago and his has almost gone away now, it was pink for about a week and now is almost black again. No idea how he did it, probably during fence wars with the dogs at the back fence

Wwyd - Rescue Dog Vs Pedigree Pup
Dame Aussie replied to AlanMatic's topic in General Dog Discussion
I wouldn't be comfortable with rescuing a dog I'd never met, especially as you already have a current dog, children and livestock. Too many variables for my liking, if you just had a child or one dog then yeah, but I wouldn't risk it. I'd go with a pup that you can train and bring up with your family. -
I always take a new puppy straight to my vet, usually the day after I get them. You want to know if there are any issues asap.
-
Probably temporary due to her age and teething but they can stay like that, I love it, I think it does make her an individual ...piccies???
-
Oh look at him!!!! Munchkin! He is beautiful, glad the vet said there's no need to worry.

Lili never has tangles/matts, they just come straight out, they have a very silky coat.

Leaving Dogs Inside House When You Go Out
Dame Aussie replied to poochiemama's topic in General Dog Discussion
I feel this way sometimes -
My Aussie only needs a wash and a brush rather than a real grooming ritual. As for exercise, what Gayle said, actually everything Gayle said Lili is happy with training and a long walk each day, plus some off leadf stuff on weekends, what you have described would be more than enough. However, they are very attached to their people and need to be a part of the family as often as possible, Lili won't even go outside to eat a bone if we're inside. She just wants to be with us. They're awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to get another, they are the most snuggly, gorgeous wiggle bums alive. ETA: My other dog is twice the weight of my Aussie and she is the boss when they play so no worries there

HAHAHA we dont have dogs YET and hey its they tolerate it then good for them. But just out of curiasity what kind of fruit do you feed your pooches Basically every single fruit they have tried except the stuff which is actually dangerous to them like grapes Bitty ADORES jackfruit, mangoes (I buy a case every week because I love the look on her face when I peel them one) and nashi pears Every morning they have a mix of apple, pear, kiwi, banana (before cyclone) and whatever other fruit is in season plus the yoghurt Mosley LOVES fruit. Especially banana. If one of us picks one up he's there in a second sitting in front of us drooling on the floor I give them the mango skins too and they lick them clean.

Is My Dog Lacking Some Essential Nutrien
Dame Aussie replied to emgem's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ahhhh Aussie farts, they are quite ermmm...rich.... Mosley does this too, he is always munching on grass and will rip branches of trees and sit there eating the leaves off them I've never paid it too much attention, as long as I know there's nothing toxic around. -
Yep they luuuuurrrve them, I give them whole ones too and they have to break the shell :D
