I would love to parent one of those magnificent beings. Maybe in the future lilly can find me one that's broken and can cope with suburban life. Mine copes quite well, only problem is barking (rolly eyes) and we have that pretty much under control now. Had to get used to praising him for barking rather than telling him off! They are magnificent, and sooooo loving.

I love your avatar, whenever I ate yoghurt Kenny would be sitting there drooling, waiting for me to finish so he could lick the container clean. Lol mantis, my two are exactly the same!

Yeah Lili used to get the hiccups all the time as a baby. Both my dogs get them occasionally. I think there as benign as they are in humans.

I have an Anatolian boy we rescued, they're a lot of dog  And yes, very stubborn. My Aussie and he are total opposites, she just wants to please whereas he couldn't really give a hoot! Every time we go on walks we get comments and a lot of people are quite frightened of him, all he wants to do is kiss them One thing I must mention about them is the barking. Just be aware of it before you commit to one. Having said all that, they are the biggest sooks around and love to spoon

Me too, stalking zoomies!!

I was going to ask the same question, none of those are breeds for first time owners. What do you want out of the dog other than the way it looks? Sounds like protection? Do you plan to do any obedience etc? What kind of property do you have?

I love all dogs. Favourites would have to be LGD's and Aussie Shepherds (I have both :)) closely followed by APBT, you can't beat a fit, red nosed pit bull and the only reason we don't have one is that we live in VIC. Also love Staffords, Amstaffs, Airedales, Danes, Bernese Mountain Dogs and Pugs. I really could go on though! I love everything and never judge a dog on it's breed, small or big. I actually have never met a dog I didn't like, and that's with 3 years working in a pound!

I don't see how they can just slap a dangerous dog order on him with no complaint/incident etc..... Sorry I'm not really any help but I would be demanding to know why they are doing this. I would also get legal advice. Good luck.

Bridgewater (us) Woman Faces Animal Cruelty Charges
Dame Aussie replied to espinay2's topic in In The News
Hard to comment when we don't really know the whole story. That picture may not show every crate that was in use. They have said the crates were too small for the dogs to turn around and stand up in, if that is the case then yes she should be in strife. -
Motel Refuses Entry To Blind Man With Guide Dog.

Bloody disgusting, and there is no excuse, if you are running a business, you need to know the law in relation to it. I'd be telling EVERYONE where it was if I was involved. -
A friend of ours has a Scotty called Bomber, he's an awesome wee man.

Nawwwww munchkins!! How beautiful

Dogs rarely kill 'just for the sake of it ' that's human behaviour IMO dogs attack/kill in response to their perception of things like - invasion of their territory - possible attack- prey animals-possible loss of resources like food . Dogs and cats are predators/carnivores/animals , and they will behave as such when their instincts kick in .Vocalising, hunting, killing are all natural behaviours .Not acceptable in suburbia, perhaps, but natural behaviour. So true perse. I know my LGD thinks his job is to guard my house from ANYTHING. This has been bred into him for thousands of years, I can't change that.

Yesh sounds like a young dog trying to get attention, wanting to play and then getting frustrated that he can't  Agree with the others, just be consistent with him and see how he goes :) And yes, It's a super forum and you're right, so much information!!

That's great! I wish mine would catch and eat mice! Aussies can be a bit wild, Lili caught and broke the neck of a bird when she was only 4 months old

What To Do When Your Rushed By A Dog?
Dame Aussie replied to Lisey's topic in General Dog Discussion
How scary. I agree, stand your ground, stomp and yell at the dog, most dogs will back off from this. If not, kick them. -
Where Do I Stand With My Breeder
Dame Aussie replied to melstar-36's topic in General Dog Discussion
Totally agree. No puppy is certified "perfect", breeders do their best but these things can happen. -
Oh my god, that's just horrible

Small Animal Markets-bybs - Reg Breeders

Just feels like things keep going backwards -
Exactly. It's apparently ok for cats to hunt and kill animals but a dog is supposed to act like what? A human with rationale??
