  1. All the best Lisey, I have my fingers crossed for a safe recovery
  2. So true Jed, supervision is the key. No excuses.
  3. Yes, after working in a pound for three years, unfortunately there are hundreds if not thousands of people like this. Cretins. Good on you for getting off and helping the wee man out, I hope your friend can take him on :)
  4. That's terrible. No excuse.
  5. This is the problem with the interweb....anyone can start a blog about anything and unfortunately a lot of good ones get lost in all the guff. People who are uneducated on the topic will just believe whatever they read and there you go. I do agree though that breeders and purebred owners have got a bad reputation. I've experienced it myself and I have a cross breed and used to work in a shelter! But how dare I buy a purebred dog....
  6. Our dogs get any nut other than macadamias and weve never had a problem. The things I avoid are them, chocolate and raisins/sultanas/grapes. Other than that it's free game! Feta should be fine just not a lot due to the salt content as was mentioned.
  7. Cannot believe we still test on animals. This is why it's soooo important to never support companies that still do this where possible. The fact China was mentioned sends shivers down my spine.
  8. Lili has nose freckles too....ADORABLE! I just showed Lukas pics to my OH and he wants another Aussie
  9. We have a huge corner suite that can seat 5-6 people and Mosley takes up just over half of it, once we sit down and Lili squeezes herself in that's it. Nobody's moving lol
  10. It does mean making sacrifices, but there are properties. I'm moving into a lovely house next week - we "won" the house over a couple with a toddler as well. The owners weren't too keen on the idea of a dog or a toddler, but in the end decided pet owners were usually more considerate of their environment as parents were a bit "aww isn't that cute, mary drew on the walls" about their precious child lol So yeh. I guess it depends on where you look, but I went directly to agents and said I'm looking for pet friendly rentals and they had bucketloads of them, they just don't advertise as pet friendly. That was certainly not the case when we were renting only a year ago. I don't know if it deopends on the area but we did the same, went to see every real estate in the area, told them our requirements and I think we got about 3 properties that allowed dogs. Also, a couple of those only allowed small dogs, which left us out.
  11. See now that is what these dogs were bred for, loyalty, strength and courage. The only thing that has gotten in the way of that, is bad ownership. Hope she recovers soon, gorgeous girl
  12. In my house it's where can WE sit when the couch is full....lol
  13. Aussie baby!!!! He's GORGEOUS!! You'll be addicted in no time....I want one in every colour lol
  14. Ours have always slept in our bedrooms either on beds on the floor, or in the bed with us. That's how it's always been and how it always will be, I love it :D So never had that problem.
  15. This sounds just like my two. We walk them together and Lili likes to sniff and piddle and Mo just wants to eat cats (Insert rolly eyed man here). Luckily they are similar ages so it isn't an issue at the moment but Mosley does not like being left at home without Lili. He was a rescue also and if we take her out without him he FREAKS. I know that it's not ideal and we are working on it by taking her out for a minute or two and then returning etc and he is imrpoving slowly. So not much advice sorry as I have similar problems, but good luck with it. I'll be reading this with interest!
  16. That's interesting lilli, I didn't know that but when Mo had a bad cut on one of his paws it was also black as it was healing.
