I have given only one teeny piece before because I also had a feeling it could have a laxative effect. So just a teeny bit :)

Barking When We Arrive Home
Dame Aussie replied to Dame Aussie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Sheena, no I try to be very calm. My OH used to raz them up and I made him stop but it's been quite a few months of us being very calm and he still goes off! Maybe it will just take a bit longer though. I definitely think that made the behaviour worse, you're spot on with that. -
It's irrelevant anyway, they weren't PB crosses.

I have an Anatolian who LOVES the sound of his own voice. He is 3 now and having worked with him, he's very good and doesn't bark too much anymore EXCEPT when we return home from work/shopping etc. The whole time I'm pulling the car in, closing the gate, walking to the door, he's going of his 'nana. He knows it's me, he just gets so excited he won't shut up *rolleyes*. So, I'm wondering if anyone has some suggestions on things I can try to defuse this behaviour? I don't mind a bark or two but he just goes mental! TIA :)

This is how it is, councils are scum and I think it will only get worse. I've given up trying to change peoples minds about pit bulls. The general public seems to be full of hysterical idiots and due to that these laws have been passed. VCAT havent got a clue and this just shows how flawed the whole thing is. The whole human race disgusts me at the moment. My thoughts are with the owners.

I feel for you, horrible situation to be in. If it were me I would keep pup as a pet and see how the condition progressed. This is only what I would do and I understand it may not be the same for you, especially when you've paid a lot of money for a show/breeding prospect. Good luck with it.

What Silly Things Is Your Dog/dogs Scared Of?

One of our little chi x's (RIP) would run and hide under the bed if I even thought about getting the flea treatment out  Seriously, I would decide to do it, get up to go and get it and BAM she'd be gone  it was like she could read my mind. She HATED it. Lili hates being brushed or having her nails clipped, even though we tried to desentise her to all that stuff as a pup. -
Good on you PA. You're stronger than you know. All the best

I'm also surprised the vet didn't know about it! I've never experienced it, but had heard of it before. Glad your boy is ok :)

Theyre all awesome! We have been talking about doing this too!! I think we would make two because Lili can be a complete bitch and I can see her not letting poor Mo in  It's so much cheaper than buying them new and Mo needs a very big one...might get started in the weekend! Keep it up with the ideas/pics!! :)

How To Keep Birds Away From His Food!

Maybe the treat ball option would work. Other than that I'm really not sure? Does he get bones? maybe a raw meaty bone for breakfast instead of kibble? -

We had fans in our last house and Lili was also quite wary! She also doesn't like things being "out of place", as she sees it. If we are walking and there is a wheelie bin, that's fine, however if the wheelie bin is tipped over on it's side, it is a force to be reckoned with....or ran away from  Same with plastic bags on the road, very scary! -
Good to hear he's fine this morning, it's so hard to know if there is any need for concern sometimes! :)

Lili developed a fear of the sound of soft drink bottles being opened, the shhhhh noise. It started a few months ago and we have no idea what caused it . We thought maybe she had come across a snake/lizard that had hissed at her, but we are in a very suburban area so it's not really likely. But other than that we can't think of anything! She is getting much better, but for a while she would walk out of the room if I picked up a soft drink bottle! Mosley has been scared of puppies in the past  he's almost 100 pounds in weight but let a Lab puppy near him and he gets all scared and precious *rolleyes* -
We have the same problem with dog doors, if we had one big enough for Mo, a person could get through it easily.

Or fight to the death with no chance of separating two dogs with that much power. I sure wouldn't risk an entire male of either of those breeds with any other entire male. The risk is just too great if they have a disagreement. I would be very surprised at anyone that would sell you a second male. What I really meant was introduce slowly meaning let them smell each other first on lease I have to add and see their initial reaction. It could have been love at first sight! Brotherly love I mean. He also did not state if he's getting a puppy or an adult, male or female. Either of the above would have produced a whole different result. The first post does state a male puppy? I agree with letting your current dog mature first and ensure this dog is very well socialized. Then decide if you think it would handle a new dog in the household. I would advise against getting another male with the breeds you are choosing, especially undesexed. Better to get a female.

Lili was in a litter of 12 and I thought that was a lot! 24

We leave ours inside, they rarely chew anything anymore. Just move anything you don't want destroyed

I remember someone in here posting a picture of a poo their Beagle (I think it was?) had done up against the coffee table
-
I'm nowhere near so can't really help, but I can't see any issue with people going and feeding the dog for the owner with the owners permission?
-
Lili ALWAYS scratches the ground when she poos. Then she gets all excited and does her "I pooed!!" dance. (Rolleyes)

Yep, my dogs have had expensive premium dry and raw and much prefer a good supermarket brand and raw meaty bones regularly, they also get organs as treats every now and then, they love a lamb heart! They are healthy, beautiful looking, have nice shiny coats and are at a perfect weight.
