  1. Yeah? He'd have to catch him first  Had a very dominant SBT rush up to my dogs when I was out walking them. I let Howard offlead (we were on an oval). He ran the SBT ragged. :) I remember being at a dog park and my Aussie was playing with a Whippet, they were doing zoomies and Lili, used to being the quick dog, was trying to catch the Whippet...not a chance, she was yelping as she ran out of frustration
  2. yes unless they have been assessed by GAP Thanks Rebanne
  3. Yep, they do unless they've passed the Greyhound RAcing Vic (GRV) assessment program, and are wearing a green GAP collar. I've actually seen a few greys without muzzles on around here, which don't wear the green collar, so I'm assuming the owners are being naughty.. Just to clarify - the requirement that they wear muzzles is because the legislation considers greyhounds to be "livestock" rather than companion animals, as they're bred to race. That's all :) Thanks Alkhe, yes the owners near me are naughty then
  4. My Aussie was like this although she had stopped by about 4 months. Have you tried holding his mouth and pressing down on the bottom with your thumb? That can work sometimes. Also just what perse has suggested. Good luck I hope you get some more advice!
  5. Mosley licks his bed or a nearby cushion and Lili sucks on a pillow or a toy  strange creatures
  6. Do Greyhounds have to wear muzzles in VIC? I can't remember ever seeing them with muzzles on down here?
  7. Yes, this is Mosley. He spends about 80% of his time sleeping
  8. Mosley will snooze on "his" part of the couch and just stay there when we go to bed, Lili is wherever we are till we go to bed, then she squeezes underneath the bed to snooze.
  9. I don't believe you can make that sweeping statement. It seems that pockets of Anatolians since 1985 are upholding that statement. Just like there are those who can be exposed to the sun all their life and never get skin cancer - because they do not have the inherent propensity to develop skin cancer. In multiple environments there have been Anatolian living juxtapose with the CAS, and it is the CAS which have bloated not the Anatolian. One of my ASD boys enjoys dietary no-nos because I know he can digest anything. Last night he ate left over fish n chips (I guess anything that pees on fox carcasses and then proceeds to eat them seems digestive indestructible.) And tonight I came home to find his half sister had opened the walk in pantry and eaten 700g of chocolate cookies. (Not happy jan!) Not to mention bench surfing had also won her a pot of steamed rice. But she will be fine. (if it helps those looking for precursor warning signs: some of the CAS which bloated, burped a lot as part of their normal habits. This is data collected after the fact ) Yep, mine has eaten a whole bag of lentils, a bag of bird seed and a whole garic bread which was won bench surfing, with no issues whatsoever *rolly eyes*
  10. Wow. Good on them, great to see a council actually thinking for once
  11. Yeah definitely let the neighbours know, the more of you keeping watch the better. It's hearing things like this that make me so thankful for my Anatolian, his guarding can be a pain at times, but you can't come within 100 metres of my place without him hearing  If I'm home alone at night he sits right across the front door!
  12. Puppy wholesaler?? "It's very rare to see Parvo in the community"????
  13. that's a bit scary! I'm glad he's ok!
  14. Both of those  plus no she is not a husky cross or a koolie.
  15. I wouldn't take her back for the other c5 shot. The first one should provide adequate immunity for at least a year (i use this loosely) since she is not a puppy. Agree with this.
  16. I'd agree with this in regards to my Aussie. She is fine with children she has met, but she does have a tendency to try and herd them and I supervise her VERY closely with any kids. My Anatolian just loves everybody but he can be too rough as he doesn't seem to realise how big he is.
  17. Sounds like she doesn't even want to look at other options.
  18. shes 8 weeks old last friday! She's very cute, agree with Clyde, prepare yourself for mucho destruction
  19. ADORABLE! How old is she? Little chunkster :)
  20. I think she freaked out once her owner started to engage, she didnt mind me talking, it was when her owner responded to me more than once that she lost the plot... could have been a number of things, the fact that I was turning away after he had responded to me...not sure... I just did not expect it, thats all... not saying anyone is irresponsible, but if a child or someone came from behind to ask the question, he had head phones in... he cant hear.. someone may have walked closer to them and there could be a different ending.... they are not strangers to the neighbourhood someone who has not been taught to ask first could have just walked up.... Yeah, I wouldn't wear headphones even if both of mine were perfect, I want to know if people are approaching.
  21. Good, to be honest I'm not sure about NSW, as I'm in VIC, but yes they do seek them out here People are actually encouraged to dob in bull breeds that live near them so they can check to see if they're a pit bull type. I have a feeling NSW is different though, VIC is the worst by far. Looking forward to seeing pics :)
