I often put my plate on the floor (at home) for Kenny to finish any scraps, the dishes get washed I don't see the problem, mind you, I never told my visitors, because some might freak out & not want to have a meal at my place. but we all know now I'll confess and join you; my dogs and cats have often cleaned up the plates for me. So clean they don't need to be washed but I do  My OH and I argue about this all the time. I let them, he doesn't. I'm not supposed to let them but I do when he isn't around

Agree with this. -
A cafe we go to does a puppycino.....soy milk with liver sprinkles :) (no coffee). I don't have a problem with it personally but I can understand why others would. Having said that I wouldnt give my dog any type of caffeine.

Same! If Lili is snoozing and Mosley tries to lie near her she growls at him and then they play bitey face. *Rolly eye man*

Actually most of the women and some of the men in the royal family are excellent dog and horse handlers. Are they 'eejits' because they're old? I see them as being intelligent. Not an 'eejit' amongst them, IMO. No, see my previous post, I just don't like them
-
Yeah....that stuck out to me too....WTF? They're all a bunch of old eejits, why would we expect they know how to handle dogs. You think so...the Queen is actually a very good dog handler and trainer, her Sandringham Labs have always competed with the best in working gundog trials. Pack fights can happen in any group of dogs...any breed...why this is even newsworthy is beyond me. Nothing like a little sensationalism to sell papers and mags. Not really....I just detest the British royal family

Hope you get them soon Jules, I hate waiting for test results, animal or human.

For Those That Haven't Gone To Training Recently
Dame Aussie replied to Cosmolo's topic in General Dog Discussion
What was the reason why you stopped training your dog? I don't get time to scratch myself let alone go to training during the week and weekends are used for all the things I can;t get done during the week so basically, no time. It can also be quite expensive depending on operators. Both my two went to puppy pre school, obedience and Lili to agility. Once they were trained to an extent I was happy with for a pet, ie: Well behaved but occasionally cheeky b*stards  , I stopped. What would prompt you to start training again or would you not start training again regardless? At this point in time I am not looking at doing any training but I wouldn't say no for sure. If I had more time during the week I would luike to do some more agility with Lili and obedience with Mo, but he's an Anatolian and they don't take well to being told what to do :/ -
Who knows. It would have saved a lot of money and heartache!

They can have it from 6 weeks :) I think ours started a bit later than that but I can't remember  You just do it by weight. This link has the details. http://ah.novartis.com.au/verve/_resources/Sentinel_Spectrum_Tasty_Chews_for_Dogs_LEAFLET.pdf

Excellent outcome, home where he belongs :) http://www.theage.com.au/environment/animals/the-battle-for-butch-council-blows-100k-on-pitbull-dog-fight-20120821-24j97.html "Ballarat City Council has spent more than $100,000 in a drawn-out legal battle over the custody of a pet dog. Butch, the pit bull terrier, was finally returned to his owners on the weekend, more than 10 months after he was seized by council officers. We are very happy to have Butch home...Thank you to the public who have looked out for us during the long 10 months and 24 days. In an out-of-court settlement late last week, David and Megan Thurston, from the suburb of Canadian, won the right to keep their beloved red nose American pit bull terrier. They had not seen their dog for 305 days, as it was detained at an RSPCA shelter in Mornington. He returned home on Saturday, with strict guidelines imposed on his owners. In a brief statement, Mrs Thurston said the couple were overwhelmed by the support they received from the public. “We are very happy to have Butch home and want to thank all our family and friends for their support,” she said. “Thank you to the public who have looked out for us during the long 10 months and 24 days.” City of Ballarat mayor Mark Harris said it was unfortunate that the process had taken so long, but said the council did not have any other options. He said the council had the responsibility of upholding a state government law and that council officers acted appropriately in originally seizing the dog. Butch was seized in October last year, just hours after it became statewide law for restricted breed dogs to be registered with councils. He was unregistered at the time. “They (officers) did exactly what they should have done in acting out the letter of the law. If we had the time again, we would do it exactly the same,” Cr Harris said. “We couldn’t pursue it in any other way. People wouldn’t have wanted authorities like us to have too much leeway if we are in charge of prosecuting state government law.” Details of the VCAT hearing and subsequent out-of-court settlement remain confidential, but the council’s chief executive officer Anthony Schinck confirmed that the 10-month process had cost council “in excess of $100,000”. He said if the out-of-court settlement had not been reached, the case would most likely had gone as far as the Supreme Court. “From both party’s point of view, there was an enormous amount of work that went into this. In terms of being able to get to a resolution, it was something that council was not able to do of its own accord,” he said. “It’s the law, we had no other option but to adhere to the law, and part of council’s many responsibilities is that we are the caretaker of a lot of different legislation.” Pit Bull Association president Colin Muir said it was a great result and thanked the Barristers Animal Welfare Panel for their assistance."

I don't see that it could hurt to worm kitty too. Drontal is fine, I have an Aussie too and due to the MDR1 use Sentinel Spectrum which covers fleas and all worms, incl heartworm. It doesn't contain any ivermectin :)
-
Yep I'd worm her now and then again in two weeks.
-
Yeah....that stuck out to me too....WTF? They're all a bunch of old eejits *Removed as I have been corrected* They're still eejits though.....
-
When was she last wormed?
