  1. 3kgs in 2 weeks is fantastic! Well done. He's a beautiful looking boy :)
  2. I rehomed one of my foster dogs to a lovely lady who knocked out a bedroom wall to fit a king size bed in the bedroom, just so her small dogs could fit comfortably on the bed. :) Now that's the kind of person you want to rehome a dog too!! Brilliant!
  3. My old SBT girl (RIP) used to always sleep with her smelly bum next to my head so I invented the 'fart pillow'. It was a soft round pillow that wpuld be plonked against her butt in case I rolled over during the night that would buffer the odours. Mind you her snoring was so bad I had to wear ear plugs as well, but there is nothing worse than waking to a hairy arse first thing in the morning! My heart SBT likes to sleep on my legs and sometimes my back. I have had dreams where I was trying to run away from danger but couldn't, like my legs wouldn't work, only to wake up to several tonne of dog lying on top of me.  fart pillow
  4. Yes this! We didn't get Lili used to being blowdried and the first time she went to the groomer she FREAKED.
  5. Lili HATED being brushed as a baby puppy. She was sooo evil. She'd wriggle and squirm and attack the brush but I persisted and whilst I wouldn't say she loves it now, she will tolerate it, i.e. stand still with a sour look on her face and then as soon as I'm finished bolt away. Just try and do it regularly in little bursts, also touch puppies ears, paws, mouth etc a lot to get him used to that.
  6. That's fantastic! I'm going to do this with my big boy as he slips round on the lino a bit sometimes.
  7. Yes, my two have been quite feral in the early mornings lately
  8. Yep. I've fallen asleep on the couch before and woken with Mosley lying on top of me with his boof head right next to mine but Lili is the butt-face. She will go to sleep on the floor and I'll wake up and she's up between us licking my OH's face with her butt in mine..... ETA: Had to add we have been readying our house for some guests which has meant getting a new bed and a few rugs....everytime we put something new down be it rug or mattress, Mosley is on it within .1 of a milisecond  He even made his way into the bed frame as we were buidling it, stayed there until almost all the slats were on and then decided he better get out...not without trouble might I add
  9. Ours have never needed to have them done, they get some dry food, but mostly raw meaty bones. Our old chi had to have hers done a couple of times, not very often though.
  10. I wasn't referring to that post, I hadn't even read it  I was just saying that DOL is not the only place to find a breeder.
  11. This. DOL is not the only place to see advertisements. We found our Aussie advertised on the Trading Post.
  12. Yep Mosley's was a nightmare, every time we put it on he'd either lose it or rip it off. Not to mention actually getting it on was almost impossible  He ended up with an Elizabethan collar for a week just to stop him from tearing at it. He also became quite defensive whener anyone tried to look at the foot because it was obviosuly so sore and this didn;t help with gettingh the bandage on properly.
  13. Argh, I've experienced this, our boy split a pad open on his front foot, it was huge and right open but the vet didn't staple as it would have just come undone. He had cream and bandages for a few weeks. It finally healed but it was the most annoying bloody injury, everytime it looked ok he'd open it back up . Took about 3-4 weeks to fully heal. You have my sympathy
  14. Yes, I'd be getting a vet check as the first step, just in case he has a UTI or somehting, then go from there.
  15. Yep, have they said they are going to report it?
  16. Don't stress too much. She's only 4 months, you have plenty of time to work on the basics with her :) Just be consistent and don't give up :)
  17. Awwww she's such a cutie! So happy you have her back :)
  18. Pretty normal, but at 4 months I wouldn't consider training to be finished at all. Wait till she's 7 months Then the real teenager comes out  SNAP minimax
  19. I have asked those same questions myself perygrine. I also wonder why Stan feels the need to fall on me like a felled tree instead of just gently laying down. Mosley does that...he will crawl up as if I can't see him but as soon as he thinks I've noticed him "plonk"! 45kg of dog right on my chest...I swear he thinks he's a chi or something!
  20. If a dog in rescue has papers then it initially came from a registered breeder, and yes is a purebred dog. I wasn't referring to dogs in rescue but rather pups from puppy farmers/BYB'ers etc. Oh ok, cool, my misunderstanding :)
  21. Our old Chi x (RIP) was a licker. We couldn't catch her tongue either, she was like a wee snake  She did it as a comfort thing, and also chewed on blankets, it got to the point where she would have been licking us for ten mins and we wouldn't even notice as we were so used to it!
  22. But if they have papers, then they're purebred aren't they? So if a dog is in rescue with papers, it is still a purebred dog, I was referring to dogsaremyworld saying that the only way to get a purebred dog is through a reg breeder.
  23. What about all the "purebred" dogs in rescue? Some dogs that come into pounds and rescue DO have papers....should Joe Public not go there?
