  1. Don't Sheridan, it's not nice, especially if you live alone How did it go with the cops YG?
  2. Even though mistreated dogs can behave quite submissively, I don't doubt they would take their chance to do damage if presented with it.
  3. Me too, they're on my list of wants...unfortunately my OH got bitten on the arse by one a few years ago  he doesn't want one...
  4. My first dog was a Boxer, beautiful, loyal sooky boy, BUT he did not like strangers. This was partly our fault as there wasn't puppy pre school etc back in those days and he wasn't as well socialised as he could have been. They're not what I would call an easy dog but just lovely to live with. I agree with HW though that a gun dog might be better for what you're after.
  5. Not surprising, don't act like an idiot in front of dogs, pretty simple. ETA: where's m-sass??? Look! A Labrador attacking someone! Fancy that...
  6. I listened again and can hear her say is there something scary in there, and after the growl there is thumping and clunking??
  7. Glad you're going to the police, they might have been checking the place out by looking through the dog door.
  8. I thought it sounded human... The dogs also sounded very upset I.e not just alert barking but there was a lot of crying and howling......very weird...
  9. Staffordshire Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers are allowed, if they have papers. It is American Pit Bull Terriers or unpapered bull breed mixes which are in danger.
  10. Hi Jamie, Welcome! I love both breeds! Re size, Staffords are smaller than Amstaffs, but not by too much, Amstaffs have longer legs too so are taller. From my experience their temps are very similar. They do need to be well socialised as puppies so things like puppy pre school, and controlled meetings with other friendly known dogs are essential. Sex wise, I have found boys to be much smoochier and girls a bit more cheeky, but both lovely. They are very human focussed so need all of your attention when you are with them. From your lifestyle I honestly think either breed would be fine. I don't know how much you know about Breed Specific Legislation (?) but in VIC any bull breed without papers can be seized, so once you've decided on breed, make sure to find a good registered breeder who does all the necessary health tests etc and gives you pedigree papers. I'm sure there will be loads of others with advice too, but let us know how you go with your decision!! :)
  11. Gorgeous, love the catching the toy shot  Your Husky has gorgeous colouring woof :)
  12. I met a beautiful Goldie who was being trained as a guide dog, she was a really dark golden and was just stunning.
  13. They won't. They will keep on with their rubbish BSL and nothing will change. I wonder how long it will have to go on till they admit how wrong they were?
  14. You cannot force people to be educated. No legislation about licensing people to own dogs will work. No amount of education will help stupid people. Unfortunately I agree.
  15. Me too, he's hilarious just sitting there
  16. T do you know what her parents were? She looks like she could have Weim in her or something! LOVE the crazy eyes
  17. Great post Robbi, you're completely correct. And Abbi is very lucky to have you :)
  18. Gosh that's gone quick!! Happy gotcha day Ziggy!! :D
  19. It would be the same weight as a Rhodesian Ridgeback Exactly! My Anatolian x is 45kgs!
  20. I have never in my life seen a Pitbull that was 40 or 50kgs, if it was, it would be the most obese dog I've ever seen and wouldn't be able to do much more than wobble at someone.
  21. Mine was sent on the 26th and arrived on the 31st! Very quick!
