TOO CUTE kirislin!
-
Yep, one of Sarsanets. I think there could be one or two left for sale. :D Don't tell me that
-
Good idea, I would do this just as a back up. What a cretin!

Is that a whippet kirislin? In love over here

I think the run in the kitchen sounds fine, far better than just the crate :)
-
Sounds like he would be fine alone for a couple of hours inside in his pen. I would just make sure nothing is where he can get to it, and he has everything he needs in his pen with him :)

These are Finnish yeah? I like those names :) I like human names, I want to get a cute little dog and call it Bruce.

Our boxer was named Maxwell the amazing Maxlo. Max for short :D

Hi Haredown Whippets, I am taking a week off to get him used to this arrangement and supervise his crate traning closely. I am only 15 mins up the road so will work with the amount of time slowly. I will have a camera on him as well to help with this assessment and will work out more frequent toilet breaks to start off with. We have a tiered backyard and crating him when he's not supervised will be better for him than anything else. I don't want him jumping around anything. He has a full size XXXL crate that will be partitioned for crate training and he will definitely have enough room to sit, stand, lie down and stretch in any way he likes :) . He will not be confined inside at all times, he just won't be left outside to his own devices. I can't wait for the little man to get here! Why even ask the question when you clearly are going to do it anyway? Personally, I think it's abhorrent and dont see the point of getting the pup if it's going to be crated for so many hours. Sort out your yard FIRST, then get a dog. Have to agree. I don't think it's fair at all to ask a puppy to hold onto its bladder for 4.5 hours. The whole crating for the majority of the day/all day is so messed up IMO.

IME working at a pound you do get a lot of "purebred" looking dogs.... i.e. that is obviously a Border Collie/Poodle etc whether or not it has papers. Dogs with a pedigree were less common but I would say we would still have got at least a few a week.

You HAVE to become slightly immune to it otherwise you wouldn't last longer than a month. Trust me that the staff don't work there for the money. They do care.

My Dog Has Dog Suddenly Started Eating Poo
Dame Aussie replied to GoldenGirl85's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes, the pineapple is supposed to work by making the poo taste bad to the dog that is eating it. So unless you know whose poo the dog is eating and can give THAT dog pineapple, I don't think it will work. Why do they have to be so manky??? -
Omg gorgeous that's wonderful :) you must be so excited!

I honestly think you will find she needs to either be inside or in the verandah area because IME the barking just gets worse as they get older. With Mosley its not just barking he does these high pitched howl/shriek things....EPIC. Soooo loud.

Yes sounds like she is trying to claim your position, possibly because your fiancé is around more. I'm sure there will be some recommendations for a behaviourists near you. Not nice but at least you can deal with the problem before it gets any worse.

Titre Testing Instead Of Annual Vaccinations.
Dame Aussie replied to mixeduppup's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yeah I think we over vaccinate. My Aussie gets a big lump when she has them so i prefer to avoid it. I'm Sure there's a few people on here who do it. -
Titre Testing Instead Of Annual Vaccinations.
Dame Aussie replied to mixeduppup's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am considering it instead of vacc this year. I'm fairly sure some kennels and training clubs accept titre testing, not all though. -
But surely as the owner is responsible for keeping the dog contained, they should have identified that and already taken action, not sure what peoples definition of responsible is, but mine isn't sitting on my hands until men in suits turn up. Proactive/reactive one of them stops stuff happening! Of course but as we all know, a large number of people aren't responsible at all when it comes to dogs. Mine are behind solid high fences on every side, plus padlocks

Our old Chi x (RIP) would stick his tongue out if we made a kissing noise at him  everytime without fail.
