Dog Bitten While In Boarding Kennel
Dame Aussie replied to Bisart Dobes's topic in General Dog Discussion
Same here. I just can't trust that anyone but me or my Mum will look after them the way I expect. -
This. What a cretin. I wouldn't worry mantis, let the ranger know he said that though.

Completely negligent. Disgraceful. I don't use kennels. -
that's scary!! Yes I would be more concerned about what the koala could do, crazy claws. A run is probably a good idea.

Aren't the bindis shocking this year I've never seen anything like it, Lili goes outside for 5 minutes and comes in covered in the things!

Yep! We left ours out this morning and my mum has gone and checked on them and said they didn't want to come inside

Look What They Have Done To Our Dogs.
Dame Aussie replied to Sandy46's topic in General Dog Discussion
I don't consider breeders who don't show lesser than breeders who do. There is a standard and lots of research to be done to plan a breeding program and I don't think showing is a necessity. JMO though. -
I just love all dogs  . I think from working in a pound I got so used to dealing with so many different ones every day it is just natural for me to talk to them, say hello etc, if they seem happy for me to approach. We have quite a few APBT near me so I always take the chance to cuddle them and then tell the owner to keep them out of sight.

Stan the Man and friends.....

They're opportunists, they see something good, they eat it. I don't think it's that unusual and assume like rebanne that he got something good and keeps going back for more :) I would just keep the bin away from him if you're not there to supervise, that's what we do. Mosley is a notorious bench surfer so things can't be left there either *rolleyes*

Yes I have come across this a lot. I like a clear, uncluttered site which is up to date.

Ball/stick Fetch Crazy?
Dame Aussie replied to Lexi-Taj's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
We put the ball away, he finds a stick. We put the stick away, he finds a peg. We put the peg away, he finds some grass or a rock or a bit of paper.... It just keeps going :) Ours stops at sticks  Best I've had is a couple of our other dog's hair, before that it was a piece of grass  ahh they're funny... -

I need a third dog permit....

Don't say that HW! I've developed quite a penchant for greys and whippies.....

Show bred greyhounds are a rare breed in this country. They are my breed and they are not bred very often. 2011 there were 12 born, 2012 none. but why is this? Is it because most people see Greys as racing dogs and aren't interested in them as a pet?

Lili sits like a quiet little angel in the waiting room. Mosley LOVES the vets, and the nurses, and the smells, and the other doggies, and kids and the pigs ears behind the counter, and the counter...... *roll eyes* Often we will be put into a private room because he gets a little overwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, he never gets at anyone or anything but he can be a bit vocal Luckily most people fall in love with him and so forgive his doofus tendencies.

I never approach a dog before asking and I never ask if the dog isn't already wriggling it's way happily over to me.
-
All the time. I often compliment people's dogs and ask if I can say hello :)

Ball/stick Fetch Crazy?
Dame Aussie replied to Lexi-Taj's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
We have a ball/fetch obsessed dog too, if she's being a pest we just put away all her balls/toys so she can't torture people with them.
