I wouldn't go to a vet that didn't allow me to walk in the front door with my dog. Back entrances at vets are for bodybags and other stuff I don't want to see. I also wouldn't be 'advising my appointment time', as the vets are responsible for knowing who they have made appointments with and when they are coming in.

She looks just like my ASD x Maremma boy

RIP Inka. Thinking of you

Yes I was pretty sure this was the case, you sign up for 12 months of insurance and nothing can cahnge until that 12 months is up. Unless maybe this is a monthly thing? Problem with pet insurance compared to house/car etc is that if you decide you want to change and the dog is an older dog, you may find you either cannot get insured or you'll have to pay more than the original amount anyway. They have you by the balls.

Medication To Treat Dog Aggression?
Dame Aussie replied to littlesev's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Agree. I'm shocked that a trainer would suggest medication for a puppy before doing any behavioural work or having a full vet check?! I'd stay away from this person. -
Jesus Christ I feel sick I can't even bring myself to imagine what you must be feeling right now. I am truly sorry this has happened. Please let us know if you need anything and don't you dare blame yourself, this was negligence. I can't even say what I'd do to the groomer on here, safe to say I'd be arrested.

Dog Bitten While In Boarding Kennel
Dame Aussie replied to Bisart Dobes's topic in General Dog Discussion
If that's the case and it was my dog I'd probably take some kind of legal action, at the very least getting them to pay the vet costs. -
I had a black cat called Blackie  In my defense she was mine and I named her, at age 7

I think this is more to deal with and prevent matting of the coat, rather than for temperature regulation. Didn't see Alkhe's post :)

Dog Bitten While In Boarding Kennel
Dame Aussie replied to Bisart Dobes's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes that's another reason for us too Anne, we don't normally vaccinate either after 12 months. A lot of places still don't accept titre tests. -
I like people names I think they're cute. I want to get a Pug and call him Cuthbert :D We don't normally go for boring names although we did have a Boxer called Max but he was named after our close friend (his breeder) :) Other names from our menagerie growing up were: Chopsticks Belle Chip Strawberry Rascal Blackie Coloured Sweet Pea Dilly Plunker Jareth

Yes agree with Erny. We often see dogs off lead down the beach we go to, which is supposed to be on lead (ours are always on lead), but most don;t even look twice at us and as long as they don't bother us I don't mind. As soon as they get in our way though I tell the owners to leash their dog.

OMG! Stunning Look at his perfect little ridge!

One of my dogs is close to 50kgs, I don't even know what size crate I would need to fit his lanky legs in, not to mention how I would transport the thing?!?! What do people with big dogs do? The vets have big enough crates; if they can fit Danes in, they can fit your big dog in too :) How would I transport something so big though? I'm getting all kinds of visuals of myself doing this and none are very pretty

My Rotti used to do this when we had a pool. He also used to grab my daughters floaties when she was a toddler and pull her out of the pool from the steps. In the end we just ended up locking him away when we swam as he woudlnt allow my daughter to swim without getting anxious. What a good boy :) Agree, dogs are awesome I would try crickets suggestion but if it doesn't work just lock him away when you are swimming.

Lili just stares O-O Mosley stands in front of wherever we are, wags his whole backend and "talks".
