Having had Pointers for the last 13 years I have only had one that was (at times) not food driven...

Yes! Bruno is Alex's Uncle. I was also lucky enough to show Bruno at the Brisbane Royal last year and is the reason I am totally in love with the breed!

When I queried the person selling the puppies she informed me there were US and Aust registration papers...

Thank you! I couldn't find anything to show it was but thought I might be looking in the wrong place. Got a local person trying to sell a litter and is saying the mother has papers...

Can someone tell me if it is a recognised breed by the ANKC and able to be registered?

Perfect but for the fact I am in Central Queensland...

A Grand Champion is just the straight 1000 points with no other requirement

I have seen too many oztrails crumble under the weight of water during summer storms up here to even contemplate them now. We have 2 3x3 and a 6x3 Outdoor Connection gazebos and think they are brilliant. A fair bit heavier than others but a lot sturdier in my opinion...

Suits you Show Suits on Facebook. Laura has very reasonably priced brand new suits imported from the US- most being around the $60-70 mark.

We changed the wheels on ours to match the car so we usually only have the one spare, that being the one in the car. When we go on long trips, as we have a roofrack on the trailer, another spare goes on there. We are thinking about getting a bracket made so that a spare can travel under the trailer.

Just in case anyone is interested...

That's all well and good, but when I took mine to the caravan repair place they said "they shouldn't be using these rivets on a dog trailer, there not sealed and will leak"
Not to mention I got absolutely no reply to my many emails and phone calls about the trailer and the dodgy repair job...
Sorry I would never reccomend a Toledo and would never get one again....
Hey that is totally your prerogative! I am a big believer in telling someone if I have a shoddy product, same as if I have a product that I am extemely happy with. For the record, Toledo do have a very good reputation for being a good, solid, well built trailer. As in anything there will always be a lemon. Friends took our trailer to a local trailer builder to be used as a base example for the one they were having made and were told our one was fantastic...

Bought a new Toledo 4 berth with wardrobe 7 years ago and have not had a moments problem with it. Had made a few changes etc over the years and am still extremely happy with it!!!

I have had RUBOB at Brisbane Royal and was not told anything about going back. I thought Brissy did group 1-4, where the RUBOB winners dont get to go back into the ring (like Melbourne and Sydney)
Going by the schedule sent with the entries, the group awards are Best and Runner up to, Best puppy and Best baby puppy...
-
Well I guess technically no one HAS to go back, however the RBOB does go back in for RBIG, if you aren't there to go back in, your lose!
-
Yes Runner up of Breed also, they still do Runner up in Group at the Royal...

Dont be confused Yarracully about where we lived - we lived in Sydney for sometime than moved to the mid west. Many people do that you know. As I said before you only need to attend One Speciality Show and be placed. By being placed at a Speciality it shows that your breeding is on the right track or not.
No it doesn't.
Agreed, be it a specialty show or AB, it is still just one persons opinion and we have all seen judges do some far out things at both levels...

About time!!!

Yes this topic has been touched on before. Whilst your suggestion has merit, it is important to remember that the Judge on the day signs a Certificate that states "I am clearly of the opinion that this exhibit is of such outstanding merit as to be worthy to qualify for the title of 'Champion'" and does have the right to withhold a Challenge.
Please also note that those of us with rare breeds, in my case Havanese, do NOT have a specialty show and under your rules, we would never have any dogs titled. The Havanese achieved a 25 point BOB at last years Melbourne Royal and again at this years Sydney Royal.
I think you need to think things through more clearly before coming up with these types of suggestions....
A much better idea to avoid these "Petrol Champions" you speak of would be for Judges to refuse more challenges if they feel the dog isn't up to scratch.

We are travelling down from Rockhampton with 2 Bracco Italianos and a Pointer and showing on March 26.
