Just my thoughts Here in Coffs we had our local ag show, but the dog show part of the ag show was at our racecourse which is about 10 mins away it wasn't well advertised that the dog show part was at the racecourse and I wondered how that would affect it. Seeing how last year when it was still at the show ground lots of the public were walking around talking to the exhibitors if there isn't enough advertising people just don't know which is sad :p --Lhok

Chose No even though I think I read somewhere that the original stock for breeding the amstaff was the same as the pitbull. I don't believe they are the same dog anymore might be the same type of dog like bull breeds and whatnot but that is because they come from the pit background many many years ago. --Lhok

Is there much difference between the American Akita lines and the Japanese Akita lines? I've been doing a bit of research and the FCI have two separate standards for the difference lines. Thanks --Lhok

When I was kid I used to watch his show and I didn't know why but I didn't like him at all got to the point where my dad would just call me out of my room to view the road tests. I also saw that Irish wolfhound road test can't remember for the life of me what was said but I did like looking at the dogs --Lhok

Thanks for the replies can't wait to go to the next show, I also have started looking into breed standards but they look like a whole lot of gobbly gook at the moment as I don't know how to read one and get the information out of it and apply it to the dog. I also might be just getting ahead of myself but I am enjoying all this research ;) --Lhok

Don't know how much help this will be but my dad's kelpie got a bit distressed the same way you described as he got older. The vet my dad took his kelpie to checked him over and found that there was something wrong with his eyes (not sure what it was) and he became confused and problematic as his hearing was fine and he was reacting to things he couldn't see but hear. Just a thought though you might want to get his eyes checked and eliminate that possiblity --Lhok on a side note he might just want to play up to his name of "Loki" being the Norse god of mischief and strife. :D
