  1. I haven't any good pics of my dogs - They just will not stay still, and cannot help themselves by running away when the camera comes out. I think they secretly know - Camera = annoying... Maybe its just me
  2. Hi all, Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking 10 days is way too long aswell - they are drving me and themselves mad. I didnt mis hear the vet either, its written on the sheet they gave me. Thanks so much, they'll be going outside in the morning for a much needed engergy burn. mel
  3. They are 5 and 6 months old, they have been cocking their legs for 2 months now. I let them out the front to piddle - they usually don't run away. They aren't aloud out the back with the oth(my land lords cattle dog) because they may get a little rough(according to vet). Today was the first time they have run on the road. WE have taken them for walks, and let them run a little off leash in our suburbs off leash area - they enjoyed that, but as soon as we got back, they went back to naughty behaviour. My dogs usually go outside during the day, our yard is fenced. but the vet has said they must be indoors for 10 days, which I think is a little long, specially since we can't be at home all day since we both work and I study as well. I'm just out of ideas. I got home from work and ask the OH when he took them out. 10 and 20 minutes ago. Went into the bathroom and one had piddled. Its just getting so frustrating and making out house just seem so dirty!
  4. Hi guys, My two pups just recently got desexed and ever since - OH MY, very bad beahviour, and many piddles. The two were desexed on Friday and were told to stay inside for 10 days.... No doubt they are bored, but they are being SO naughty. When I bring them outside to go to the toilet, they run on the road (lucky it is a VERY quiet street) and they just pretend that Mikey and Ralphy aren't their names. They even have to stay inside while we are not home as the vet thinks that being outisde may impose a risk of their stitched up cuts. - Personally, their cuts are looking fine, and they would be fine outside, but I have to listen to the vet. When we are home, we take them outside and get them to go to the toilet, the come inside and cock the leg. They were doing so well before, with only SOME mistakes (which wsa understandable since they are still puppies) - Now the legs are cocked anywhere and they also poo alot more as well. Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this behaviour, or has experienced something similar. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks, Mel
  5. When my pups matured into dogs - there wasn't many differences except that they were a little more calm, however...... When they are hyped up, they are hyped up. They are at my dads house and keep up with 11 year olds so they are doing pretty good. =) Gee I miss them
  6. my pup started to lose his teeth at 5 months alto at one time, the other at 5 and only one has gone
  7. Try creamed corn! My dogs love it!!!
  8. Taking my trainer/behaviourist 'cap' off here (so I don't have to be 'serious' ) but I wonder at how dumb or silly they think WE are for going 'party' just because they wee'd or poo'd. Probably think we're simple minded idiots. (And sometimes I think perhaps we are? LOL) I can guarentee that I feel like the biggest dork - specially when I bring them out the front and I jump up and down and praise them for all the passing traffic to see (not that much but neighbours seem to laugh!)
  9. Haha, this has had me laughing! dogs and cats are just so funny! I'm so glad I asked!
  10. The pic looks pretty normal to me, and it also doesnt look upside down to me either. My dogs girly bits looked like that while they were on heat. I wouldn't stress too much. keep us postes
  11. Hi, My dogs are very small but they walk very well on a lead. I know people say they training a dog to walk on a harness or lead isnt good but I found that it works for my dogs. When i first brought them for a walk they both pulled a little, now after a tiny tug when they pulled they both walk loose leash are quite happy walking with their harness on. Goodluck
  12. sorry to be a bit off topic - I absolutely love your signature line! - It looks like my cat when he attacks my arm
  13. My dogs will eat anything if they are hungry enough - they tend to eat anything. Some of the bikkies they dont like, others they do. Advance bikkies were an on and off thing so my cat ate them when they didn't feel like them. I find they like natural pedigree and they absolutely go crazy for the cat bikkies!! Goodluck finding the right one!
  14. hehe looking forward to reading some Louie did a similar thing when we were potty training him. We would do praise ad sometime liver treats too. Well Louie worked out that if he did TWO wees on a visit her might get a second bit of liver So he would do a bit of wee - come bumbling over for a treat and some praise, then he would run back and finish! Thats funny!!! Dogs are so clever!!! Hmm my quote didnt work :S
  15. Hey all, My four month old tiny maltese is being trained to piddle outside. Its getting better and better as the days go by but lately he has been going outside and pretending to piddle and looks at me waiting for the overreaction praise. I just cant get over it!!!! It's so cute and HILARIOUS! I guess its a really good thing that he is understanding that the praise is for piddling outside. I just giggle at him and THEN praise him then he looks wondering why I'm not straight on him going GOOOOOD BOOOYYY! Wondering if anyone else experiences the same funny thing. hehe looking forward to reading some
  16. Hi all, Having yet another problem with my pups. I've been making my dogs a raw food diet and they just dont seem to like it. I've tried chicken mince - chicken thigh mince - puppy mince from the butcher and inclusions such as some very very very finely blended vegetables that they are barley even noticable because they dont like those either. I've tried to stay away from canned food as one of them tends to eat their poo alot more if they are on it. ATM they are on pedigree puppy roll... any suggestions on preparation of puppy mince and nutrient additives? Thanks a heap
  17. Hi, My shihtzu tends to have a problem with scoffing his food down too... and hes quite small. I have given him bigger chunks - in smaller portions if that makes any sense at all. Once he has finished the big peice - I give him another one. It is time consuing sitting there and waiting until he has finished however, it has worked this far Hope this helps
  18. Interesting topic - My sisters vet told her to give her dog sultanas as treats as she has server allergies... Very interesting. Some vets are so silly if this is the case
  19. They don't seem to eat anything actually RAW raw. They are so damn picky!! I have no idea what to make them for raw food. I've looked at all the nutrients and food threads... Just they dont want to eat it! Thanks for your help - I might try bones
  20. Hi all, I'm still having a problem with my puppy... He's eating his poo again!!!!!! I tried putting pineapple in his food because that is supposedly what turns them off - But it hasnt. I changed his diet to raw food and he has been on it for a week - and still hasnt changed. I'm running out of ideas - He knows it is naughty and everytime he does it and I walk near it he runs away so I dont grouch at him... Does anyone have any ideas???? Any new raw food I can try? I cook chicken mince and add vegies and also he eats some puppy bikkies too... He gets regular excersise and eats normal amounts of food and has a puppy brother who he loves to play with so he doesnt get bored all that much I'm all outta ideas!!! please help!!!!!!
