Lol.... you are not alone, Nandi is 5 months old, teething and her breath stinks!!!! I .... googled it and goole says it is normal for teething puppies to have stinky breath.... Google This also happens when your puppy is teething. The main reason for your puppy to have bad breath at this time is a build up in bacterial count in their mouths. There is inflammation, some blood and serum leakage from the gums, proteins in the drool. These are great feeding and breeding grounds for halitosis causing bacteria. You may even notice a little blood smell.

LOL.... she looks happy.... :D

Hi Skunk, :D For the first 2 weeks after I picked Ringo up from the RSPCA (he was also 1 year old) he did not make a noise.... he did not bark or whine at all. It did make house training difficult.... he would just wee in front of the door if it was closed. I had to take him out every now and then and then praise him for doing his wees. After the first couple of times he would wee and look at me, with a "look what I am doing mommy....." look on his face I crate trained him and it’s the best thing I ever did. Good luck with your new doggy..... can we have some photos?

If not I will call her, but I'm sure they will be 100%

I was just wondering....can this be genetic? I bought Nandi at a registered breeder, doesn't that give me some 'guarantee' that her adult teeth will be were they should be? Edit to say: frufru, I'm glad your puppy is not in pain anymore.

Gorgeous puppy, love the photos!

Wow.... Elbie is getting big! He is beautiful....

Just an update..... 8 days later and Nandi had lost ALL her canine puppy teeth, the new canines are already showing..... Lesson learned - don't stress too much about puppy teeth....
-
Are they less fatty, where can I buy them? Thanks, she is still not feeling 100%..... but much better than this morning.

I gave Nandi (almost 5 months) a marrow bone yesterday, did not leave it with her to long..... this morning she started vomiting.... she did not stop, even when there were nothing left. I had to take her to the vet and he gave her an injection to stop the vomiting....... she slept for the rest of the day, but is looking better now. I don't know if it was the bone, but I won't give her a marrow bone again. :D

I didn't know dogs will eat pineapple..... love the photos. ;)

I grew up with Boerboels but my dad use to tell me stories about him and his JRT when he was a young boy..... I use to love the stories and dreamed about having my own Jack Russell.

Thanks everyone..... I feel better now, I will keep an eye on her, and if her gum becomes red I'll take her to the vet asap.

I wish! Would make things so much easier. "here fly fly fly, have some yummy, erm...poop!" Normally I just end up lying in a patch of the garden and wait for the bugs to settle down. Its amazing how many bugs are actually there if you stop and just watch! The 'stop and watch' thing is difficult for me...... I'm always running around, doing things, taking the kids somewhere..... And when I do get time (like today) the weather is BAD!

Ravyk.... how do you get your bugs to 'pose'..... do you promise them treats?

Yep I would like to take Brennan, but she may not cope with it ( she is reactive) and I don't want to risk placing her in that situation with a lot of new dogs on leads and noise/ people yet. I went a previous year and took Ringo with me, I am going again this year but without him..... even though all the dogs are on lead, there were so many I could not keep an eye on all of them, I stressed the whole time that he would snap at another dog. That took all the fun out of it..... Miss Squish, I will definitely see your for some Shar Pei hugs...

I love all dogs but whenever I see a JRT my heart does a flip....

Thanks Koalathebear, it did take two of us..... Thanks Sandra777, I think she still has her puppy canines, she is only 4 and a half months?? It doesn't seem to bother her, she is still eating and chewing pigs ears etc.

I always love your photos.... your dogs are beautiful.

Love the look on her face.....

Thanks Kirislin, that’s what I meant.... sometimes I just don't find the right eng words. I will take her to the vet on Monday, one of her puppy bottom front teeth did not fall out and it’s still in there with the new one.....
-
Nandi is teething and at the moment her bottom canine is peircing her upper gum..... its difficult for me to explain. This is how it looks, when she open her mouth there is a little hole at the top, her gum is quite swollen, is this normal....
-
Thanks, she has the best personality.... that’s why I love JRT so much. If you think that is cute.... look at this one..... (it comes with a warning.... after this you might love Jack Russell’s forever..... )
