  1. Welcome gelnncol. I second this 100%, I work at a grooming salon and Labrador x Poodle's are some of the most difficult dogs to do if they are not use to getting groomed.
  2. tlc, do you know how difficult it is to get Nandi to look at the camera..... we went to the beach today (her first time), I took over 300 photos and could not get her to sit and look at the camera once..... Thanks Colver, Ringo needs to lose a little weight... his getting a little toooo heavy for a Jack.
  3. Magstar I am glad you went back..... I read this topic after my puppy went to her first puppy pre-school. She is a 12 week old JRT puppy, the other puppies were American Akita, Steffie, Richback X (all 10 weeks +) and a Cavalier x Poodle (but she did not want to play). Nandi could not wait to play but even though the class was controlled she did get a little overwhelmed..... so after the first play (only about 30sec before she had to rescued ) she did not want to go near them again. :D The next class, she just jumped right back into it..... She loved playing with the Richback X girl (which were pretty full on) and new 8 week old Steffy puppy.
  4. Kirislin, beautiful photos..... now I'm crying, missing my 'old' country.....
  5. Thanks spitzbaby, we are taking her (and Ringo) to the beach for the first time today, I can't wait.
  6. Can I join even though it is already week 25, I do have a flickr acount. I did not use my camera for a long time (got distracted by work and other stuff), your beautiful photos motivates me to really learn how to use my camera.
  7. My puppy does it all the time....... she did it 5 min ago on the couch next to me. I do tell her "ah-ah" when she does it.
  8. I nearly wasn't going come in and have a look Altho Joey has caught a few real ones IRL Very cute pics, and very well captured too Tookie A Couple of months ago we had a real mouse in the house but it disappeared, never saw it again......
  9. Neither of them, it lived to see another day.... safe inside the toy box... Thanks everyone, I love taking photos of my dogs..... keep me enternained for hours. The best thing I ever did was to get a another dog....
  10. Go away....!!! you drive me crazy!! Mum, where is our mouse?
  11. Ringo and Nandi were playing outside and found a 'mouse'....... Let me play too pleasssssse.....
  12. Congratulations, Huga.... I agree you definatley have an eye for photography!
  13. Jaegertheweim, she is beautiful! Ok, new things Nandi learned. - She realised that lead = fun, so instead of running away when I take the lead she runs toward me. - I can eat something really good (like steak) with her next to me on the couch, she will sniff the air and just lie down again.... a couple of weeks ago she would have climbed into my plate. - She does not run out every time we open the front door... she now sits and wait for as to leave or come inside. And the most important - she eats what I give her, no more fussy eating! (Thanks Bundy's Mum. :D )
  14. Wow.... she was suppose to be called Winterbourne Irish Rebel (Nandi), but I decided (because she is only a pet :D ) to make it Winterbourne Sweet Nandi... Nandi means sweet thing, so it is actually Winterbourne sweet, sweet thing...
  15. I love this topic, I keep coming back just to look at all the puppies. Nandi is doing great, she weights 2.1kg now... and growing fast.
  16. I had to put Nandi in her crate within the first hour she was home.... I was not sure if Ringo will be ok with her and had to put her in her crate every time I was busy or could not keep an eye on them, it was the best thing I ever did. She loved her crate from day one and now.... after a couple of weeks, Ringo (who use to sleep in my sons bed) sleeps with her in her crate....
  17. The photos are beautiful Kirislin, they look so big and muscular but in the photos with the people in the background you realise they are actually small.
  18. Sorry, just saw they are $62 again....
  19. Nandi got the Intranasal Kennel cough vaccine last Wednesday and since Saturday she had this terrible runny nose and it is getting worse, she is sleepy and not feeling well..... I googled after effects of the vaccine and this is what I found. Nasal and/or ocular discharge and sneezing: Live intranasal vaccines including the kennel cough vaccines (parainfluenza virus, Bordetella +/- canine adenovirus) and intranasal cat flu vaccines (feline herpes virus - FHV - and feline calicivirus - FCV) can induce mild signs of the disease that they are designed to prevent, with a watery ocular and nasal discharge and sneezing (occasionally coughing) being the most common signs. These signs tend to develop 3-4 days following intranasal vaccination. Vaccination and prevention More commonly, for best protection an intranasal vaccine containing both Parainfluenza and Bordetella is used. Intranasal vaccines create localized immunity that greatly reduces the incidence of clinical signs and illness. There are several precautions and warnings that need to be observed pertaining to this vaccine. Some dogs will develop mild signs similar to kennel cough when given this vaccine. Very often the symptoms will last for several days and the dog will recover without treatment. Dogs that are vaccinated can also shed the virus and cause other dogs to become mildly infected and show mild signs. This shedding usually last less than 72 hours. In addition it takes up to 4 days after vaccination for dogs to develop protection. When you combine these facts you will see why I strongly recommend that a dog not be given intranasal vaccine within 72 hours of coming into contact with other susceptible dogs. Do not give the vaccine the day before a dog show, boarding etc. Try to give at least four days before contact with other dogs and preferably 7 days. This way you'll protect your dog from becoming infected by other dogs, and protect those dogs from becoming infected by yours. This vaccine is not without it's problems. It is a very effective vaccine but it must be used carefully and is generally only recommended for dogs that are at high risk. If your dog is not shown, boarded, or comes into contact with stray dogs, your dog is considered low risk.
  20. I ordered 2 SnuggelSafe's (12/06) from Pegasus Pet Products, they were $48 each and $19 postage (it’s more because I ordered 2 and they are 1.5kg each). They were delivered 18/06.
  21. I have not seen my dogs react toe the TV but I can't work with my laptop while Nandi is on the couch se tries to bite the mouse cursors on the screen....
  22. Shebu, how did the puppy preschool go? I took Ringo to Holdfast for his basic obedience training (after trying another school where we had a bad experience) we loved Holdfast. But like Colliepaws said I think they are more pet orientated, I am thinking of taking Nandi to Dovers when she is older. How far south are you, (I,m in Woodcroft) let me know if you want a play date for Shebu, Nandi loves playing.
