  1. I could rave about this stuff all day..... I tell anyone who wants to listen about it. It's called Odour-go. Here is the website. Very very good cost wise because you dilute in water and use it to spray furniture etc, can be used on wood, concrete, even yourself if you think you smell. I even mop my floors with it, and use it in the bathroom/toilets beds etc. No chance of my house smelling doggy at all. There are several 'flavours' to choose from, and I am still on my first 5 litre bottle (which has lasted about 18 months). It is very safe, as it is a blend of essential oils that odours naturally bond to. I'll try and attach the link to their website. I have the apple scent, but I hear that the talc is very popular. 2. Hi LukasandMel. I'm sorry as I have no advice other than to suggest another visit to the vet tomorrow. Puppies can go down very quickly. Have you changed the food in his diet suddenly at all? This can sometimes cause problems. Is there both diarrhoea and vomiting, or just one of these?. I remember the early days when I brought Heidi home, she has some fairly runny poo for a couple of weeks. We were continuing with the same diet as the breeder, but I think it can be a common reaction to leaving one home, and going to the next. I hope you have no problems with the vaccines. My breeder told me the same thing, as she had some pups die from a vaccine once. Hopefully, it is nothing that serious. We have a GSP thread on here. Come and join us soon. GSP Thread.
  3. My hubby is in love with Heidi and the poor kids had to put up with this kind of stuff......... singing lullaby to Heidi puppy.
  4. I just love the oldies.... so precious..... RIP Tinka. Take care MM.
  5. Oh my oh my......... I must be blind or something strange is going on. I did search (really... I DID). ... maybe I didn't spell it right. Thanks DOL friends.
  6. I have a friend who is eagerly waiting for a litter of Lagotto puppies to be born. She and her family have prepared so well, and this dog will be well looked after and loved a lot. I just went searching for wherever the Lagotto owners hang out on here, and can't find out where... can anyone point me in the right direction?
  7. I'm mortified to say that my dog found a human poo while walking in the bush area one day. Oh, I just couldn't believe it. I actually trod in it too. Driving home, I was beside myself, mainly worried about if it had any medications (human ones) or drugs. Thankfully, all was fine, and I let her kiss me a week later. Revolting.... but dogs will be dogs.
  8. If you prefer adding something, you could try Tucker Time. My dog had about 2 tablespoons with her evening kibble, as raw doesn't agree with her, and she can sometimes get a bit bored with kibble. You can purchase from the vet, and it is very reasonably priced. I cut it in slabs and freeze.
  9. Oh dear, thats a worry. Hope she is ok. Keep us posted.
  10. My neighbours dog was bitten by a snake a few years back, and she was shaky on her back legs for quite some time. Gradually got better, and some days/weeks it was less noticeable than others. She copes fine now, but her co-ordination is probably not 100%.
  11. What about bike tyres, are they safe?
  12. Very funny, I've seen this one before, forgot about it, but just had a good laugh re-watching it. Does this dog not feel the cold?
  13. Galvanised bin at our house. A rat decided to eat through another plastic one we got with Advance one time. I could hear it dining away in the middle of the night...... not anymore.
  14. It's that trust thing. I said to my husband on Saturday after taking Heidi on an outing "I wonder how great it is for her to know we 'understand' her so well". It's amazing from my end... just how well I know her. Being able to share our life and get so much joy from our dog is pure pleasure. I loved my Jessie girl so so much. Words could not describe. Its been 18 months without her now, but Heidi is just "different". I feel guilty though, guilty as if I love Heidi more (but I don't), I'm just having a different experience, one that I have learned so much with Heidi. She so belongs in our family, and I will be lost without her. Wish she could live forever and hope she has many many years left.
  15. My backyard is being invaded by a beautiful blue flower wasp. Problem is, Heidi seems so interested in getting close and personal with these creatures. Apparently they are not an aggressive wasp, but they are digging in the yard to lay eggs in other grubs, so I'm wondering how many we will end up with eventually. The other day, one of these wasps was on the ground, with a huntsman, laying another bunch of eggs into it's body. Heidi could have easily grabbed it while this was going on. They don't really fly away quickly, and appear very 'tame'. I'm worried something will happen when I'm not home. Anyone else had any experiences with flower wasps?
  16. Any news... hope everything is ok and he recovers quickly.
  17. How horrid. I don't know what to say. poor doggies.
  18. Last summer, I gave Heidi lots of homemade ice blocks. She loved them, but then I read about the concerns associated with eating ice, and now, unfortunately, I don't give her them anymore. It's a shame, cause she really loved them.
  19. I often get "Oh, you have a choc lab, very lean, not like others I've seen. Um, thats because she's a GSP.
  20. Yes, my dog always circles, does a poo, then goes off sniffing with her bum still half 'ready' and then does the rest of it.
  21. Im going to print that out. It's perfect and maybe will help others think about seeing it from their 4 legged friends point of view for a change.
  22. I still do 3 meals here, and Heidi is 19 months. When she goes to boarding kennels, they give her 2 and she copes fine, but we just fall back into our 3 times a day routine when she comes back home.
  23. OMG. this is so coool. love it!!
  24. Great pic's all. Here's some of my kids and Heidi.
