I'm always puzzled why ewes give birth in the coldest part of winter.

Neko will be 3 years old tomorrow! She went fundaying on Sunday, her first time chasing the lure since her maternal duties, and she's lost none of her old enthusiasm. top one for me too but I wonder if you could clone out the dark pile of dirt in the foreground. The second one has an artificial looking green circle in the middle of the pic which I find off putting, it looks out of place. They're both very pretty though, it must have been a beautiful morning.

thanks everyone for all your lovely comments about my doggy family, especially the little Iglets. Today Secret is 6 months old exactly! I haven't taken a photo of her to celebrate the occasion though I know Snook, I see her all the time and I still cant get over the size difference between siblings. If I didn't know they were litter mates it would be hard to convince me.

Finally! a shot of them side by side. I had to be quick getting this shot and only had the macro lens on, not the best one but I knew as soon as they saw the camera they'd move, and they did. I've never seen it in whippets or greyhounds either but it is pretty common in Italian Greyhounds.

it doesn't only affect blue dogs, it affects dilute dogs. Those with the colour dilution gene, which can be in fawns as well as blues

Peperone is a whippet breeder (of very good whippets) too, so he must be good :D

the puppies were weaned long ago, they're almost 6 months old now. I let their mum do it herself.

His grandma and great grandma and his uncle (Nekos brother). He seems much more sensible now. When he was playing with Secret yesterday she had him on the defensive, she's a feisty little thing and throws herself into play, she's not intimidated by his size at all.

Yes we really got the extremes in the one litter. Obi isn't as big as some IGs I've seen though and he too has slowed down growing although I think he will get bigger. Little Secret is a lovely shape. Somtimes the tiny ones have eyes and brain too big for their heads and end up with a head looking a bit like a chihuahua, but she hasn't. She really is just like a little fairy IG, a miniature miniature :laugh:

Marcus came up today and brought her brother with him. He's now named Obi, short for Oberon. Hopefully this will be his final name that sticks. Check out the size difference between them. It's hard to believe they're litter mates, in fact hard to believe they're even the same breed! Obi is absolutely beautiful. The most amazing sleek coat and a lovely head and movement. He's stunning, I couldn't take my eyes off him. I weighed her today. She was 23 weeks old yesterday and she's basically the same weight as she was at 18 weeks (10gms more) she had put some on but she's lost it again. She still has some knuckle so I'm sure she'll grow a bit more but I think she will be lucky to get to 3 kgs the way she's going. It's just too tiny to ever be safe here. As cute and adorable as she is being tiny I want her to grow more for her own safety.

she's got another one in black, she'll be invisible at night in that one. :laugh:

they're going well. Crickett now lives in Qld with Marcus' parents and Mr Fat who is now called Obi lives with a friend of Marcus who might show him.

Secret got given 2 pairs of PJs today from a lovely lady in WA who ordered them from the UK but they were too small for her IG. I'm hoping Secret will grow into them because they're a bit big on her. I think it's the death knell for all States, it's sure to have a follow on effect. I just hope there wont be a mass cull but I fear there will be.
