snarly faces and bum holes.

It's so sad that they have to be desexed so young. If only people could be trusted to be responsible it wouldn't be necessary. I hope they all get wonderful homes anyway. You'll probably be swamped with enquiries.
-
When will you have to start sending them off to their new homes?
-
Thanks Kirislin... not as great as your photos, but they will definitely do, yes? T. Please dont say that, mine are always just candid grabs. Yours are gorgeous and I found myself wishing I could get shots like them, I find it hard to get down low these days. I love the screens full of puppy that you have.

Oh gawd, they're so cute it hurts. Wonderful photps.

 I knew a lab named Enya.

I like my dogs names but then I would, I chose them. I thought they were fairly unique so I was a bit miffed when I heard of another whippet called Feather and convinced myself they copied off me 'cause my Feather is older  I've been surprised to hear of 2 other dogs (at least) called Puck. Feather Puck Secret are ones I particularly like. Tag is a bit different, he was named after the friend who saved his life as an 8 day old puppy, it's her initials. I probably wont meet another Tag Then of course Kibah, now deceased. I named her after a horse in the Barcelona Olympics, Kibah Tic Toc. I liked the name and remembered it, and years later christened my little blue whippet Kibah. I've since heard of other dogs called Kibah but spelt Keeba and Kiba. I like mine the best. :D

Beautiful photos. I love the green eyes of the stick chewer.

good idea, me too

good news!! Dear Old Thing :) Wonder if it's anything to do with Whippet physiology? Not sure, I wonder about their thin skin.
-
Yep, going well. I've still got 5 days of AB's but I think it's all re-absorbed. :D I'm very relieved. This is the 3rd whippet I've had with this condition.

visited the rellies yesterday. There's a sun room out the back and they stood where the sun hit the floor like dozing horses. Widget even hung her head and closed her eyes for a while, I wish I'd got that shot. L-R Secret, Great Uncle Biro, Grandmother Widget and Mum Neko. Happy Birthday to Tasha and may you have many more.

Just scrolled through again  they're so cute and fat and chubby. Adorable!

9!! that's going to be alot of hard work, not that you need reminding. They are beautiful, and your photos really show them off in all their mischievous ways. It's going to be fun regularly checking this thread.
-
Yes, sometimes they remind me of little foals haha I think you can tell by the body language, poor Neko is always on the defensive and Secret (the little brat) is always on the attack. Lucky Neko is a sweet natured gentle girl or they'd really be having a barney because I think Secret will be the dominant one, what am I talking about, she already is.

In honour of the Olympic Games we have World Championship Backyard Wrestle Time! Secret versus Neko. I managed to get my lovely vet to see her early and his first thought was her back teeth too. He had a good look and doesn't think it is coming from there. She has a tiny mark that could be a wound under her eye which could be consistent with a small pesky puppy scrabbling at her face, which Secret does constantly to poor Feathie even though I try to stop her. Incidentally, Neko did the same thing to Tag when she was a puppy and scratched Tag's eye and cost me a fortune in vets bills. Feathie is on a precautionary course of AB's now and hopefully it will just resolve but I've been told if it oozes or her eye starts to close take her back quick smart. Thanks Perse, I'm hoping she will be OK. I feel a bit better after having the vet look at her. I know she wont be around for too much longer so I tend to worry a bit more I suppose.
-
this is my worry. I know it can also be gas not air, and I think that's more serious. My vet is totally booked up today, even though I rang early this morning. I tried the other clinic 30ks away but my favourite vet there is away all week. I dont want to take her to someone I dont know at all. I'm watching her to see if it's worsening and if so I'll ring again and push to see if they can fit her in. They've already said they'll let me know if there's a cancellation today.
-
My poor Feather has this, although she hasn't been to the vet as yet to have it officially diagnosed, I cannot get in until tomorrow, but I've seen this twice before in my whippets, I dont know if it's something whippets are particularly prone to. In the past it's been to an obvious injury and was eventually reabsorbed but I am worried that it is something more sinister with Feather, she is 14 years old and very frail now. I dont think she would cope with a GA. I cannot see anything in the way of injury except a tiny mark that I've been bathing to see if I can see a hole. I dont even know why I'm writing, just to vent a bit I think. It's on her face, under her right eye and extending around her cheek and towards her nasal cavity

It's creepy with those revolting grey tentacles I hope they've taken the dog to the vets now, instead of asking for advice on facebook.
-
and a horrible slow agonising death if they get caught up in them too.
-
I hate the wastage when they cull kangaroos, I think it's criminal to just leave them where they lay, or bury them in a mass grave. Their meat and hides should be used. Just taken on face value, if an emu was becoming dangerous to people then I think there could be justification in killing it
-
No of course it doesn't offend. :D Is Malcolm the little fella in your avatar?
-
I dont know who owns the dog, this was posted on FB, a dog with creepy grey tentacles in its mouth. I suggested they take it to the vet but I'm curious if anyone's ever seen anything like this before.
