I don’t think munchkin cats should ever have been recognised as a breed in the first place. Now it’s just getting worse.

End of an era. Sadly beautiful Widget, Roskyle Preshus Lilywhite, mother to Arkey (dec), Milton (dec), and Neko, passed away yesterday. Her owner will bring her here today to be buried near her son Arkey. Thankyou sweet girl for giving me my Neko.

Whippet puppy with demodectic mange

Weird how people post for advice and then never come back. -
I see so many overweight dogs and I’m constantly being criticised for my whippet and Italian greyhounds because people think they’re too thin. My brother abused me for starving them. Meanwhile his own commercial fed dogs were grossly overweight and riddled with fleas. The majority of dogs I see are overweight and people think they’re the normal ones. Many people aren’t used to seeing lean healthy dogs. if people have fat whippets they Cooley call them Whoppets and think it’s cute. They say “ as long as they’re happy”. If you try to suggest it’s not good for their dog you’re accused of fat shaming.

I’d love to see how that poor deformed foal moves. Do you have any more information on it?

I remember the furious uproar this documentary created with breed clubs, and kennel clubs all around the world, and right here on DOL! Jemima Harrison was criticised and ridiculed back then. I’m curious to know how people feel about it now.

Requiring customers to sign agreements regarding desexing?

I bought a puppy from a breeder who usually sells on the limited register and although not discussed with her I’m sure she would NOT want the puppies she sells as pets only to be bred from. From the very outset I told her I am a registered breeder and would want the puppy on the full register, even though I don’t know if I will ever breed from him. I would imagine she checked out that I was legit and then she had no problem selling him to me on the full register. if I wasn’t a registered breeder I don’t think she would’ve sold him to me under these conditions. I think that’s fair enough. -
Oh!

The horse laying down in the last photo is a chestnut colour with the same colour mane. It doesn’t have a black mane.
-
The last photo in the article shows a man lying on a chestnut horse but it says it’s Lunar. Unless he just calls all the horse he has Lunar then it’s the wrong horse.
-
I’m glad the horse defended itself but I noticed a very stupid error. The horse that was attacked was a bay, but the horse the owner is laying on top of is a chestnut. Both apparently called Lunar! Maybe to save him from forgetting his horses names he just calls them all Lunar.

I was thinking to myself I bet the last one bolts for home. She didn’t disappoint.

You predicted correctly, this happens quite a bit. People ask me what her name is and when I say Secret they think I don’t want to tell them her name!
-
This thread is years old but for some reason I’ve found myself reading it and noticed this comment. I had to smile because Secret does indeed get called Seekie. Funny thing is even though her mum Neko sounds nothing like Secret, Neko gets called Neekie. Then I get all tongue tied and flustered when I’m calling Seekie but mean to call Neekie. I end up saying SNEEKIE.

Happy 9th birthday to my darling Neko! My brave but scaredy, clever and silly, all rolled into one. Arkey and Milton have both gone too soon but mum Widget is still with us at 14 1/2 her eye sight is fading, but then so is mine. Thankyou beautiful Widget for giving me Neko. And from Neko we have Obi, Crickett and of course Secret. From Obi we have Sissy who is just at the beginning of what looks like a promising show career, and so it goes on. Here is a photo of Neko today, on her 9th birthday. She used to have a dazzling white neck but the skin has turned dark and the fur has mostly fallen out. for her birthday dinner they’re getting slow roasted pulled lamb with all the trimmings. I deliberately haven’t put salt or pepper on it. Whatever is left for me, I’ll have to add them then.

Oops! No! I posted them the other day on what I thought was the thread in photos and then couldn’t see them. I wondered where they’d gone. My apologies. I wonder if I can delete them.
